The washer dryer was great. The location is great. The apartment was very clean. The bed was comfortable. It was quiet at night.

There were a lot of stairs which wasn’t mentioned anywhere. Very difficult to drag heavy bags up 60 stairs. If you were not strong or had any mobility issues it would be impossible . Also water from the shower came up through the floor drain which was smelly and soggy.

We had such a lovely stay at Sarah and Ivan’s apartment! The apartment was cozy, well equipped, and in the perfect location, close to everything we needed, but wonderfully peaceful when it was time to recharge. The beds were comfortable, and since the apartment is on the 3rd (and thankfully last!) floor, there was absolutely no noise from above. Or from any other side, really. Check-in was super easy, too. Ivan provided us with a clear, step-by-step guide explaining exactly how to get into the building and find the apartment, so there was absolutely no wandering around looking confused with suitcases in hand. Sarah and Ivan also left us a sweet handwritten note and a bag of Domaćica cookies, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch. Being welcomed with cookies is a very strong hosting strategy; we were immediately emotionally attached to the place. 🍪❤️ Everything was comfortable, thoughtful, and easy, and you can really tell they put care into making guests feel at home. Thank you, Sarah and Ivan, for such a wonderful stay! We’d happily come back when we are back in Zagreb!

The only thing worth mentioning is that the building itself is very old and has a lot of historic charm, but it also shows its age and isn’t particularly well maintained. The hosts are completely transparent about this and share this information with guests in advance, so there are no surprises. There is no elevator, and the stairs to the 3rd floor are definitely a little workout, so it may not be ideal if you have heavy luggage or aren’t a fan of stairs! 😄 That said, once you’re inside the apartment, it’s cozy, comfortable, and well worth the climb. Consider the stairs your complimentary pre-holiday exercise. 😉

This property was conveniently located near all city sites. Unfortunately we were only there for one night, but the hosts were great to deal with and left a handwritten welcome note with a bag of cookies. Instructions for check in were easy to understand. Well stocked kitchen and full washer/dryer

You needed to walk across the property and up a few flights of stairs. Not a problem for us, but if you have lots of luggage consider this.

There were many things we really liked about the property. Breakfast was not included, but a good selection of breakfast items was provided, including filter coffee, instant coffee, tea and herbal infusions. The owners also left us a packet of local biscuits as a welcome treat, which was perfect for a snack or breakfast. A lovely touch that not every host thinks of. The property is in a very central yet quiet location, just a few minutes’ walk from the main attractions. The accommodation also had several great features, including a washing machine and tumble dryer, air conditioning, a wardrobe in the bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery and utensils, and a cosy living room with a sofa and TV. The Wi-Fi was good, although not outstanding, with an average Speedtest result of around 297 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload. We also really appreciated the guestbook, which shows that the owners genuinely care about their guests’ feedback and are always looking for ways to improve, as well as the videos they sent us to help us discover and get to know the city.

Unfortunately, the ventilation in the bathroom was not particularly good, as the window is quite small and the room can quickly become very hot and steamy, almost like a sauna. This was not especially pleasant during the hot summer days. The property does not have a lift, and the overall space is perhaps a little limited for four people. That said, these were relatively minor drawbacks and certainly not enough to detract from our overall positive experience.
