We have just returned from a really, really lovely stay at Emotions House. Emotions house is a lovely apartment which takes up most of the ground floor of the villa (with 3 bedrooms, a bathroom and open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area). We found it to be very comfortable and clean with everything you needed for your stay. The welcome was very warm and we loved the pastry and tea/ coffee on arrival and found all the starter basics in the apartment like olive oil, salt, loo roll etc to be really thoughtful and very useful for a self catering stay. The beds were pretty comfy and the linen and towels plentiful and clean. The friendly owners live on the floor above and there is a smaller loft flat on the top floor. The terraces and pool area are shared with the others in the house and also 2 other apartments on the the site. It was very quiet when we stayed at the start of the season so didn't really have to share the facilities, except with a group of super friendly cats who spent lots of time chilling with us. There is also a large property currently being built next to the pool opposite the house. The villa is in a very quiet area outside of Kalamata a fair drive up a pretty steep and windy road but this was a bonus for us, we like to get away from too many people. The views are stunning and the sunsets on the terrace amazing. You do have to drive to get supplies, go out, to the beach (nothing is really walkable) but we knew this when we booked. Kalamata is a stunning place and the apartment is located really well for exploring the area.

The building site - this would have been a 10 star review if not for the fact that a large house is being built by the owners opposite the apartment, next to the pool. Not only does it spoil the view form the apartment and create lots of mess around the pool area but the usual quiet was also disturbed. The builders were friendly and you could tell were trying to be considerate. But at 8am when the noisy van rocks up next to your terrace and the banging and general builder noise begun it was a bit frustrating and if we had wanted to sit by the pool during the day it wouldn't have been so private.
