About this house rental
Charming, quintessential cottage on directly on the Delaware bay with breathtaking, unobstructed views of the Bay. Absolutely spectacular views of the sunrise. This is the sister property to our other house, The Blue Pearl on Broadkill Beach (VRBO#1163084). Check out our reviews there to see how we host our guests.
We preserved the unique pagoda style house and updated the inside. The outdoor porch connects to the main living area and is where you'll spend your mornings, meal times, and game times. Dining table easily accommodates 6. Additional seating area on the other side of the porch with couch and papasan chair and ottoman. Superb view of the bay with huge windows all around and the luxury of being screened in! We've seen dolphins swimming in the bay from the porch. Windows on the north and south side allow for cool, refreshing cross breeze.
The outdoor deck is expansive and perfect for morning stretches or yoga. A new outdoor sectional is available for outdoor lounging.
The main floor is open and well-suited for family fun. Comfortable couches and sitting chair. All with beautiful views of the bay. The kitchen was completely remodeled in 2021 with brand new appliances, including a new built in microwave, and dishwasher! We also have a new flat surface range oven. An outdoor gas grill is available for use. An indoor 4-seater table is also present in the main area.
Appliances: refrigerator, washer and dryer.
Two bedrooms are upstairs and sleep 4 comfortably. One bedroom has a queen bed. The kids' room has a twin over full bunk.
The upstairs full bathroom is completely renovated and has a shower and tub. We kept the original purple bathtub as a classic reminder of the original Beach Plum.
The third bedroom is downstairs in the enclosed lower level. We call this the "Captain's quarters". There is a queen bed and large sitting area with a luxurious leather sectional. There is also a separate keyless entry door access to the lower level outdoor lower deck/beach.
Please bring your own linen; bring bedding, pillow cases, and towels (indoor and outdoor). You'll need your own blankets/comforters as well.
Specifically bring the following:
lower level master bedroom: queen set (fitted sheet, flat sheet, 2 pillow cases);
upstairs second bedroom: queen set (fitted sheet, flat sheet, 2 pillow cases);
bunk room: twin set (top bunk: fitted sheet, flat sheet, 1 pillow case); full set (bottom bunk: fitted sheet, flat sheet, 2 pillow cases).
Please also bring kitchen hand towels. We will provide one roll of paper towels, and one roll of toilet paper per bathroom (2).
We will provide laundry detergent, trash bags, a clean sponge, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, and hand soap in all bathrooms.
The laundry room is in the lower level and has a new washer and dryer. A second full bath also on this level in the laundry room.
We have a spacious outdoor shower. It is absolutely perfect for washing off the kids before entering the house and very rejuvenating without the kids! Please rinse off before coming back into the house.
Beach access is right off the deck onto the marked path or street side right onto the path. We are directly on the beach. No other houses are between us and the beach.
This house is our gem and is perfect for reconnecting as a family. We love it.

Wonderful cottage just steps away from the beach! We enjoyed all the amenities and the owner's fantastic communication. The house is also located a short drive from amenities in Milton such as the Dogfish Head Brewery and icecream.

My husband and my in-laws rented Beach Plum for a long weekend. It was the fourth house we've rented on Broadkill and this may be our favorite. The beach access is excellent (no huge drop-off due to erosion). The house is great for four adults as there is a bedroom (and bathroom) on the same level as the kitchen and another bed/bath below at ground level, allowing for some privacy. The house was spotless and had plenty of plates, silverware, pots and pans, etc. Beautiful views of the water from the enclosed porch and the living room (and the outside deck, although we were there during Ian so we didn't use the deck!). Lovely place!
