No extra toiletries. Bed sheets had red stains. Floors felt grimmy.

The property is dated.

The customer service was very good.

The only truly appealing aspect of this property is its location. Des Plaines is a calm area. Quiet enough for comfort, yet productive and full of activities.

I never make good nor bad reviews as I find it to be a waste of my time. But this experience was something else. The room was outdated, which I honestly didn’t mind. What did concern me was the mold in the shower and the overall humidity in the room, which left my work clothes smelling unpleasant. The bedsheets were stained, and the air quality was poor. On the bright side, the room stayed cold enough that I never needed to use the old wall-mounted window A/C unit, and surprisingly, both the microwave and vintage Frigidaire mini fridge/freezer worked very well. However, the room itself raised serious concerns. It appeared to be geared more toward adult entertainment than general guests and made me question if a possible hidden cameras. There were mirrors above the bed, and my son found the mirrors over the bed to be funny but not so much running into silent porn while flipping through the channels. Something completely inappropriate for a family stay and very uncomfortable to explain. The most distressing part of our stay was the checkout situation. My reservation indicated an 11:00 PM checkout, which i found bizarre and took it as a typo. I still went ahead and verified it with the front desk, and the staff confidently confirmed it. I was pleasantly surprised and returned to the room, only to be abruptly woken up around 11:30 AM by aggressive pounding on the door scaring my son. I jumped out of bed and while attempting to hide behind the door as I opened it I saw it was the front desk employee, shouting and demanding me to leave. Despite calmly trying to explain the situation and that I had confirmed my checkout time, he continued yelling and caused a scene loud enough to draw attention of other guest in the parking lot, it was quiet embarrassing. This was an incredibly unprofessional and humiliating experience. Even if there was a miscommunication between the hotel and Booking.

The manager Selma is very helpful and quick to fix anything concerns and the breakfast is great
