Underwhelming stay!

The only truly appealing aspect of this property is its location. Des Plaines is a calm area. Quiet enough for comfort, yet productive and full of activities.

I never make good nor bad reviews as I find it to be a waste of my time. But this experience was something else. The room was outdated, which I honestly didn’t mind. What did concern me was the mold in the shower and the overall humidity in the room, which left my work clothes smelling unpleasant. The bedsheets were stained, and the air quality was poor. On the bright side, the room stayed cold enough that I never needed to use the old wall-mounted window A/C unit, and surprisingly, both the microwave and vintage Frigidaire mini fridge/freezer worked very well. However, the room itself raised serious concerns. It appeared to be geared more toward adult entertainment than general guests and made me question if a possible hidden cameras. There were mirrors above the bed, and my son found the mirrors over the bed to be funny but not so much running into silent porn while flipping through the channels. Something completely inappropriate for a family stay and very uncomfortable to explain. The most distressing part of our stay was the checkout situation. My reservation indicated an 11:00 PM checkout, which i found bizarre and took it as a typo. I still went ahead and verified it with the front desk, and the staff confidently confirmed it. I was pleasantly surprised and returned to the room, only to be abruptly woken up around 11:30 AM by aggressive pounding on the door scaring my son. I jumped out of bed and while attempting to hide behind the door as I opened it I saw it was the front desk employee, shouting and demanding me to leave. Despite calmly trying to explain the situation and that I had confirmed my checkout time, he continued yelling and caused a scene loud enough to draw attention of other guest in the parking lot, it was quiet embarrassing. This was an incredibly unprofessional and humiliating experience. Even if there was a miscommunication between the hotel and Booking.

The shower was filthy the room smelled old no wifi as promised and only one channel on the TV which was porn which I found very degrading to turn on the TV to a woman giving fellatio.

Bad customer service and poor management

The room was nice.

On booking.com app there was an option to request a different check out. So I requested 3pm and i was messaged that my request has been approved. When I got back to the Motel at 12:30 on 31st May (check out day) my things were removed and they were cleaning out the room. When I asked them about it they say no, all check out is 11am for everyone. I explained and even showed the request and approval on my phone but they continued to be very condescending and disrespectful. They placed my things on the ground including my coat and said 11am is check out and that on their system. They could easily just allow the 2.5 hours which I needed to just bathe and leave but they are very disrespectful and I don't suggest this place as a good place because they are not keeping their word.

Cockroaches dirty room dirty hot tub dirty sheets blankets pillows no water bottles no ice room was tiny bug powers everywhere I had to clean room myself scrub hot tub change bedding and I got it in a head from a large piece of wood fell from top of bed frame management very unprofessional said they couldn't help us with anything this was my husband bday for almost 300 bucks it wasn't worth 10 bucks now I'm sick
