Position, view, situation. Walking distance from two restaurants and a bakery/pizza place. Quiet.

Great views of the bay from the balcony. A lovely calm bungalow close to restaurants. Surrounded by trees and gardens. A useful fridge and kettle. Host organised a taxi for us to get to the pier.

Peaceful and relaxing with a good breakfast to start the day

The lady owner of the bungalow was very friendly and great at communicating. The bungalow was big and spacious with a lovely seating area out front. It was very peaceful and the gardens around the bungalows were lovely. The breakfast was good (fruit, mango sticky rice, pancake or ommlette), especially the pancakes. You weren't given a choice but on our last day I did ask for pancakes again and they happily obliged. It's a very chilled out part of the island. There are some great restaurants within a minutes walk, the Sea Gypsy and the pizza shop were great. Theres a lovely beach for swimming next to the Six Sense resort which we walked to (turn right out of the bungalow then left before the big tarmac hill). There was a few more restaurants if you turned left towards the pier.

Situated in a quiet spot just off the main drag with easy access to all local amenities. Staff were friendly and very helpful arranging breakfast, scooters and transport to the 2 piers we were using during our stay.

Cosy bungalow. The location was pretty good especially if you rent a motor bike. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. We really enjoyed the nature around.

Kitchen was not setup to cook anything, its just an adjacent room that lacks a bit of furniture... The bed was a hard.

Wish we could return

We really loved staying here and tried to book to stay longer but it was not available. Such a wonderful and very peaceful environment. Out of all the many places we have stayed in Thailand, this is the only one where we have really loved sitting outside on the balcony, at any time of day. For the price this place really is fantastic. It looks like our bungalow was the worst one of them all ( 2nd on rhs). Decoration was quite poor and all of the rooms were not great/unfinished . It did not look amazing inside but the air-conditioning worked, the large bed was great, the sheets and towels were clean and the varied breakfast was fantastic. Not five star luxury but great value.

Never again. Your property is in need of serious maintenance. The fact that your employee didn’t even try and move

Mud road to hike up to get to the bungalow, unavoidably getting feet dirty in the mud. There was a hole in the ceiling foundation and when I went to move the curtain a big lizard ran up the wall and into the foundation which I gather led to outside. That worried me. But the most annoying part would have been the sub par cleaned bathroom and the shower heater that was disconnected from the actual shower head so it only had freezing cold water. So disappointing

The bungalow is in nature, so some bugs and wildlife is to be expected (lizards, cockroaches) – better secured mesh nets in bathroom openings/crevices would be helpful

Beautiful, calm and comfortable experience near the beach and in the middle of nature

You get what you pay for. The owners and everyone around are incredibly helpful and kind. We got everything we needed except the hair dryer, but that was fine considering how hot it was in the island. Breakfast was so good, home made sticky rice with fresh mango and fresh sandwiches. There is coffee in the room and a little coach. We needed a motorbike and they brought it to us right away in minutes since we asked. We asked for helmets and they brought them right away. We experienced 2 different type of bungalows and both were very well equipped and comfortable for the price we paid, with beautiful view to the beach and nature. One of them had even a mosquito net for the bed.

We were impressed about the amount of lizards (and lizard poop) everywhere in the room. But it did not bother us at all. That is the price of being in the middle of the nature, you have to adapt. But you must know this is the case. Also the shower is right on top of the toilet and all floor will get wet, but it was totally fine for us and it never bothered us. For us it was the best way to get a real Thai experience.

Peaceful l, quiet stay in Koh Yao Noi, highly recommend!

Aircon wa amazing, surroundings were beautiful, peaceful stay. Lady host was so fantastic, couldn’t do enough for us. Nice breakfast. Nice kitchenette in the bungalow. Sweet cat came and said good morning to us every morning we were there.

Bad smell in bathroom, lots of mosquitos able to enter the bathroom. Housekeeps left one of our windows up when they cleaned and we were out for the day, meaning all of our belongings were easily accessible to anyone who wanted to enter.

We stayed in the bungalows on the left going up with lovely views. They were a good size and the additional living area and kitchen was very useful. Fridge and limited cooking facilities/utensils. We had the breakfast option which was fantastic and delivered freshly made by one of the staff - something different every day. The location is off the road and very peaceful day and night. There is a very friendly ginger/white cat who loves attention. There are a few bars/restaurants that are walkable (although a dark road at night). They hire bikes which is needed to explore the island. We ended up staying for 3 extra days and would recommend for a quite location.

We stayed in a fantastic bungalow with aircon that overlooked the bay. The host was great there is a language barrier but she’s so lovely. There are a couple nice restaurants close to the property but they also have scooters for hire as well to get around the island. We really enjoyed our stay here!

This is review regarding the oldest bungalow with a fan. Mookanda also owns newer ones with red roofs and AC and everyone seems to prise them. 1. Our was very old and run down with holes that allow every creature to crawl in, walls and roof are full of lizards and they make a lot of noise during the night. 2. Plastic covered bed screeching when you move while sleeping 3. No mosquito nets in the windows which should be easy to fix Despite all of above we had fantastic stay and I truly recommend this place.

Stunning location, close to nicer beaches on east coast

Beautiful bungalow with large terrace in a jungle hillside setting. Spacious with separate kitchen area. All bungalows have partial sea views. 10 minutes walk to Tha Khao beach

The staff are a nice family who run a shop and laundrette on the road which is about 3 min walk down hill from the bungalows. But I found them difficult to communicate with, as my Thai language was limited. I was certain that I had booked the Superior Bungalow (with red roof and better build quality) and the description and photos even showed it on my booking confirmation. But the lady who handles my check in insisted I pay 200 bht extra over 3 nights to upgrade and I didn’t have the mindset or energy to argue. Ended up booking my transfers and tours with other agents around the island

Something in between

Quiet, easy to relax, the staff was very kind.

Drain pipe was leaking, so there was constant smell and wet floor in the bathroom. The walls and roof are full of lizards, and they make a lot of noise during the night, and you don’t know when someone will crawl out. The bed was very uncomfortable and had some kind of plastic cover underneath the sheets so it was very hot as well. These are all the problems of the old Bungalows with white roof on top of the hill. If you can, get the one with the red roof, we saw they don’t have gigantic holes in roof, and they are well isolated. Probably better beds too.
