The accommodation was dirty and not properly cleaned. The third bed was placed directly on the floor with no mattress, only a thin blanket. Tours were sold at the same price as at the port, so booking through them was pointless. Communication was extremely difficult, as there was a language barrier.

Great experience, clean and comfy!

Overall great experience, it exceeded my expectations. It is a family run accommodation and they are beyond kind and helpful. The room was so comfortable with AC and fridge, really clean and with a mosquito cover for the really comfy bed. Location was great to move around the island which was really easy to do with a motorbike or tuktuk. Recommended, hope I can come back soon!

The family make the stay

Mr Bao and his daughter were so helpful! Such nice people, couldn’t have done enough for us. Quick replies if we ever needed any advice. Can hire a bike of them as well which is so useful. Loved our stay.

There wasn’t a hairdryer and the shower is cold no temperature however isn’t an issue because it’s hot

No HOT water and wake up at 5:35 with the nearby mosque

It’s a quaint and nice bungalow and in front of trees. It’s quiet and at the same time very close to downtown with its few stores. The rice that Ms Bao cooked for lunch was very good.

The bungalows are close to the mosque. So, you ll be awake at 5:35 in the morning when the siren calls you to prayer. At 8 pm is the last call. The sea is far. So you ll have to rent a bike or a motorcycle the same price as at the specialist shop downtown. All the beaches are on the east coast. The breakfast is very little : one cup of coffee or tea, a small bottle of water and a bowl of rice/ rice with mangoes wrapped in a banana leaf. No top sheets. Only a blanket. No HOT water 😥

Decent stay, but a bit overpriced for what it is.

The accommodation is simple, but clean and mostly comfortable. AC in the hut is a big plus. The location isn't far away from the town centre and there are few decent options to eat in walking distance. Plus the island is small and it's not a problem to get around on a scooter or a bike, even to the beaches on the eastern coast. We even got to see hornbills just behind our hut. Mr. Bao seems friendly and helpful, but communication in English is rather difficult.

For the price we paid (~1k thb per night), having only cold water in the shower is a bit rough. The bathroom also had a mosquito problem, we killed about 40 of them before we figured out they were coming from the drain. While covering the drain fixed the issue, the owner should do something about that. There also were no table or chairs in the hut. It'd be nice to have a place to eat or work. The breakfasts were alright, but again a bit disappointing for the price.

The bungalows are very basic but cozy and clean. There is a fridge and AC, also the internet is high speed, if you're working while travelling. The breakfast is good and freshly cooked. You can rent a scooter from Mr Bao at a fair price.

You should be advised that there is no hot water.

Mrs Bao makes breakfast herself, with fresh products and they were all very good: we have even tasted durian thanks to her :-) Mr Bao is always ready to help and advice (and is of good advice)

Two First nights were in a bungalow without cool heating, we had to change for an equiped bungalow so that we could better sleep Sea is not far by walk but beach for swimming is too far to go by walk

Great relaxing bungalow

Air conditioned beautifully built bungalow that really resonate local living. Close to the market where you can see where the locals thrive and enjoy local food. walking distance to the park which has a pier to see the most amazing sunset. 10 min walk to the pharmacy and 7/11. You can rent a motor bike from across the street and ride to the beach in 10/15 mins. Mr.Bao is very accommodating and serves fruits and a homely breakfast :)

Mr. Bao greeted us and was such a helpful kind host throughout our stay. We are a delicious Thai breakfast with other guests in the kitchen of the family house. The location is very close to the central street of the main town so the small market and many amenities were available. The beaches were@2 km away on the other side of the island. Easy to get to by bicycle, scooter or taxi. The “huts” we stayed in were very clean and had mosquito nets for the bed and a good AC unit. A small frig and very good WiFi were included as well. It was quiet at night but a very short walk to the center of town and many restaurants and shops. I enjoyed my stay very much. Mr. Bao’s family has lived on the island for @250 years and he shared history and stories. His English is good!

I would have liked a water boiler in the hut or available to use. I try not to use bottled water because of the plastic waste.

Nous avons chaleureusement été accueillies par Mr Bao et sa famille. Le bungalow est suffisamment bien équipé pour un séjour de 2 jours. Le petit +, mR Bao loue de scooters à des prix tous doux. Le lieu est calme et apaisant. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

Ne vous fiez pas aux photos pour le petit déjeuner, il n'y a qu'une assiette sur les 3 en photo ... Juste du riz avec 3 quartiers de mangue... Réveil à 8h45 pour aller déjeuner sans raison... Problème de compréhension avec Mr Bao pour une excursion... (Tout inclus (entrée parc, boissons et repas = pas tout inclus pour lui?) on a du emprunter de l'argent... Insistance pour vendre des excursions ou taxi Pas d'eau chaude Matelas très très ferme, peu de confort Pas de drap, juste une couverture chacun... Mosquée à 5h30 qui réveille car juste à côté ...

Gastfreundschaft und zentrale Lage

Ich hatte einen tollen Aufenthalt bei Mr Bao und seiner Familie. Wirklich gute und gastfreundliche Menschen. 🙏 Ich habe mich nicht gefühlt, wie ein Tourist, sondern wie ein Gast, während Privatsphäre im Bungalow gewahrt wird. Mr Bao hat wirklich alles getan, damit ich alles habe, was ich brauche. Er hat mir sogar ein Fahrrad zum Verleih angeboten, weil ich keinen Scooter fahren möchte. Ich erlebte Thailändische Gastfreundschaft - fernab vom Massentourismus in Phuket. Wer Ruhe im touristisch weniger erschlossenen Thailand sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Ich habe auf den Bäumen hinter dem Bungalow einen riesigen Paradiesvogel gesehen und hatte zweimal Besuch von einer Katze. Zum Frühstück gab es Mango Sticky Reis oder Reisnudeln mit Ei. So lecker. Pulverkaffee ist verfügbar. Es ist sehr wichtig, dass Damen im Dorf ihre Schultern und Knie bedecken. Bitte nicht mit Bikini zum Frühstück oder zum 7/11. Unbedingt die Kleiderordnung des muslimischen Thailand im Google lesen ! 10 Minuten zu Fuß bis 7/11 und Restaurants sowie Geschäfte. Danke, Mr Bao. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Die Moschee ist gegenüber und man hört die Gebete durch die Lautsprecher - auch morgens. Das ist nicht leise und für Menschen mit einem anderen kulturellen Hintergrund etwas ungewohnt. Ich hatte zweimal im Bad nächtlichen Besuch von einer Kakerlake, was sich in diesen Ländern nicht vermeiden lässt. Das ist nicht immer ein Zeichen von Vernachlässigung der Reinigung. Die Frau von Mr Bao hat sich sofort darum gekümmert.

Bungalow très propre , au milieu de la nature. On est réveillé par le chant des coqs 🐓, petit déjeuner thaî, ça surprend un peu , du riz , et un khao niao mamuang ( riz et mango ) délicieux.lLe seul petit bémol, le lit est un peu trop dur à notre goût.

Jederzeit wieder!!

Das Ehepaar Bao ist sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Herr Bao hat alle unsere Belange erfüllen können (Roller, Ausflug und Abreise). Frau Bao hat uns jeden Morgen ein gutes thailändisches Frühstück zubereitet und beim Ausflug auch ein gutes Lunchpaket. Das Wasser in der Dusche war zwar kalt, aber dies hat uns nicht gestört und es war eine gute Erfrischung.

Es fehlt ein Tisch auf der Terrasse.
