Lovely place and with a few little tweaks would be 10/10.

Quiet surroundings , very comfortable bed . Beautiful views . Warm. Nice kitchen . Very pleasant hosts.

Felt the shower room was tired and in need of some attention, peeling paint on the ceiling , generally over due a paint job . The shower didn’t drain very well and on inspection the plug was blocked with hair , not ours and needed a good clean . Hot water ran out when both of us showered after each other . Bedding and towels also tired ( bottom sheet had a couple of stains on a corner ) towels were musty smelling . Felt if these things were addressed definitely a 10/10 as the hosts were lovely and everything else was great.

Lovely stay at the Bothy

We had a really pleasant stay. Camilla is a lovely host and gave us a very warm welcome. She was also very helpful in finding our way around the area, pointing out interesting things to see and do. Very quiet peaceful area. The apartment was clean and comfortable with lovely furnishings. Slept very well. It was really convenient having an additional single bed in the lounge, for those of us who snore! We would be very happy to stay at the Bothy again.

Very minor issues - the stairs were very creaky on going down to the bathroom in the night. The bed, though comfortable, was a little saggy. Wouldn't prevent us from staying again, and otherwise there was really nothing we disliked!

Beautifully furnished. Lovely garden to sit in.

We just thought the bathroom could do with some love. And the single bed could perhaps be a sofa bed to allow for more comfortable seating? No reflection on our stay though and we would stay again.

There was no hand rail on the stairs which are steep. This was the only downside but is a significant safety issue that does need addressing.

Rural tranquility

Deep in the heart of Wiltshire. Wonderful rural location with a gorgeous cafe and country walks on the doorstep. Camilla was a wonderful host.

Kitchen and bathroom are small and a little awkward to use but this didn’t adversely affect us.

The property was lovely and clean, the bed was really comfortable so got a good nights sleep.

The bathroom was down the stairs and there was no hand rail to hold on to going up or down the stairs, so you had to be very careful due to that.

Comfortable stay in a cosy annexe in a beautiful setting.

Very comfortable, cosy annexe in a beautiful setting. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and were very knowledgeable about the area, highlighting great places to visit and eat. There was a great cafe and farm shop just next door which served delicious food but there was a small but well equipped kitchen in The Bothy too. Lovely part of the country to explore and even though we didn’t have the best weather we still had a great time and look forward to returning soon!

Great stay for a couple or if you don’t mind sharing a king-size bed with a friend. The small bed in the living space was great for lounging on in the day but probably not great as a second person’s bedroom.

Comfortable apartment in excellent location

Comfortable and well furnished. Very helpful, friendly host. Clean and tidy kitchen downstairs which met our needs - microwave and warming up food. Close to an excellent cafe, the Barge Inn also close, beautiful countryside all around. Many thanks for the warm welcome.

The lock is faulty ( or at least quirky) and we didn't like getting locked in - though we were able to get out through the downtairs studio. Bathroom downstairs ( though we did know this in advance) We felt that a hand rail on the stairs would be helpful especially for nightime bathroom visits! (we are both in our 60s)

A great place to stay and good value.

Needs a handrail on the staircase. Would be better if the bathroom was upstairs making room for a bigger kitchen with a washer downstairs. Perhaps make the bedroom area smaller and get an en-suite with good sized shower in. Scrap the single bed in lounge area and just go for couples.

Stylish self-catered apartment in gorgeous rural Wiltshire, lovely owners and cafe a stones throw away, pure perfection!

The Bothy was beautifully styled and was in a gorgeous location with unbelievable views. It had everything we wanted (and one of the biggest beds we’ve ever seen!) and was perfectly private. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer stay.

Everything! Camilla is a peach, bubbly, so accommodating, generous and kept me informed throughout. It was a very personable experience,especially as The Bothy is situated within the family grounds. The bed was simply delightful 😊 and the views beautiful.

It would be an abomination to be critical...if my hand was forced,I would check the freezer part of the fridge is free of ice around the rim.

every thing we required was there, hosts were very friendly and gave us good advice on what the area offered. We stayed due to the royal international air tattoo in Fairford, we booked late but managed to book this great place to stay. the drive to Swindon bus station was close by and made it a lot easier. we also took the hosts advise and went for a drink at the barge inn and breakfast at honey street cafe 👍

we love dogs so had had no problem playing ball with them when we were sitting outside the accommodation, others may not be as accommodating so maybe invest in a gated garden, but it is their home so understanding their problem, maybe worth while in investing in front door curtains as was worried about using the shower then going upstairs with partial coverage by towel if someone was in the garden.

A lovely apartment in a lovely spot.

Camilla was a welcoming and friendly host and gave us plenty of advice on where to eat and where to go. The Bothy is tastefully decorated and the bed is very comfortable. The view from the garden of the white horse on the row of hills is delightful every time. The canal side café just two minutes' walk away is excellent and there are interesting shop units next door to it. The Bothy is set in lovely walking country, including along the canal nearby.

The heating was on when we arrived, but it could have been on earlier, given the outside temperature. It warmed up nicely in a little while and this won't be an issue in warmer weather.

Comfortable, peaceful and relaxing property looking over the White Horse.

Hosts were so welcoming and friendly, Camilla could not have done any more and also checked Halfway through stay that we had everything we needed. Location is great for walks and exploring local towns. It was great waking up with a view of the White Horse across the fields. Great communication and pre arrival information.

Koud huis, koude douche

De locatie. Vriendelijke host. Complete keuken

Het was binnen ijskoud toen we aankwamen na een lange koude dag buiten in storm gelopen te hebben. De host had de kachel nog niet aangezet hoewel we hadden doorgegeven tijdens de boeking hoe laat we zouden komen. Het warme water deed het ook niet. Toen we er naar vroegen gaf de host aan dat de boiler op een timer staat om 6 uur pas aan te gaan. Enige tijd later zou er warm water moeten zijn. Wij vonden dit al een slechte situatie maar vervolgens werkte het nog steeds niet. Als je een appartement huurt in januari wil je toch gewoon een beetje warmte en een warme douche. De host kwam nog een keer naar de boiler kijken maar toch hebben wij tot 8 uur blauw van de kou samen diep ongelukkig onder een dekentje gezeten. Wachten tot het huis warm wordt..wachten op warm water...
