Check in experience
Very old, needs redecorating throughout, i had lose floor tiles in the bathroom, the shower was a trickle and red hot, cold water was on full but the water temp didnt change.
I knew their was no facilities hence the price being very reasonable. All round disappointing

The staff member was very friendly on arrival. The location is very convenient if you want to stay in Leighton Buzzard, but also due to its very close proximity to the main rail line, it's also very convenient for Milton Keynes and even London, which is only about 45 minutes on the train.
The room was nice, if a little dated, but you expect that from a Victorian property of this age.
The room was very warm as well, which was appreciated as we stayed in February.
The price represents very good value for money when compared to other hotels in the area.
I found the bed mattress to be less comfortable than I would have liked, though I still had a good night's sleep.
The shower was quite tricky to get to a comfortable temperature, due to it being fed from the mixer taps in the bath rather than being a separate, thermostatically controlled electric shower. It was still functional though.
I was surprised that shower gel wasn't provided, as every other hotel I have stayed at does provide shower gel, shampoo or a combined product. Again, this wasn't an issue for us as we did bring our own toiletries with us.

Good car parking and location. Quite roomy room. Bed comfortable
Able to check in as room ready.
Quiet location.
Lack of staff present.
Cracked sink in bathroom but staff aware of this.
Booked room for2 people, but only given 1 cup & saucer and one bath towel and one hand towel.
Lighting in main room, bulbs not working , which we reported whilst there.
Bathroom radiator needs bleeding as very hot at bottom but not top.
Had to run hot water for a while but was made aware of it by notice.
Advertises as b&B but no breakfast is available just states local establishments nearby.
Daisy chaining of extension leads to TV set which is a serious health & safety hazard and could cause a fire, which we did make staff aware of.
Could do with a lick of paint inside & out.

Good location for our visit. That's the only positive thing I can say.
Reception was appalling. Locked door, miserable unhelpful reception.
Room was prepared for one occupant only despite being booked as a double.
Wash basin was cracked and the bath panel fell off. No toiletries in the shower. Hot water took two minutes, and I really mean two whole minutes to arrive.

Nothing
Dirty carpet, torn net curtain, bedside lights not working, not very warm. Only one flat pillow each. Could not find staff to get more so disappointed we left a day early

Was clean at least
Shower didn’t work. Really run down hotel
4.0 / 10.0
Bed was comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. Room was quiet apart from what sounded like an immersion heater chugging away in the morning. OK for a quick overnight stay but that is enough. The car park is so very convenient attached to the property with ample parking and close to town and the railway station.
The place is very tired. The rooms were dated, the decor dated, the bathroom dated. Tea and coffee in the double room - but only 1 cup, no glasses or even disposable plastics cups for use in the bathroom or for water, 2 guests but 1 hand towel and 1 slightly larger bath towel. Other family member in a single room - had no cup at all in his room to use the provided tea and coffee. We did not use the shower or bath - thought it easier to go home and take a shower - there was a sign in the bathroom warning hot water takes ages to come through - which it did ... and when it did it was OK - but did not risk a shower - A large investment could maybe bring the place up to date as it has great potential. Was probably a great place to stay in its time.

Still found the shower tricky to get the right temperature! We were aware of this from last visit.

It was warm, comfy and very clean. We were ideally situated for family and the function we attended in Leighton Buzzard. The tea and coffee making facilities were much appreciated. . The receptionist was very helpful, welcoming and friendly and the parking outside was very convenient.
Perhaps there could be more about the history of the building to read inside? (A passer by told us that Winston Churchill had stayed there once, as had the pop group "Madness" and that Henry VIII had been associated with the area. )

It was close to town and the sheets were clean.
The property is in really horrible condition. It is long overdue for an update. Don’t be fooled by the photos, it is long past its use by date.

The access to all amenities and car parking!
The bathroom smelt mouldy.

Great location, friendly staff, bed was clean and comfortable.
Curtains were awful and blocked no sunlight in the morning. Biscoff biscuit wrappers left in the bedside drawers from previous visitors. Only one shower towel provided for the two of us. No basic body wash. Extra pillows would be appreciated.

Proximity to the train station made this an excellent choice.
The rooms are incredibly old and in desperate need of attention and refurbishment.

Has everything that our group needed, very reasonably priced, good location, very clean, I’d recommend the Hunt Lodge.

Location was good for what we needed. It was quiet. The bedding and room was very clean
The decor was very dated and the en-suite really needed to be updated. It was a shame that they don’t do breakfast anymore but this was made clear in the booking

Bed was clean and comfortable
Very dated - only one plug socket worked so had an extension lead running across the floor - shower head fell off
6.0 / 10.0
Comfortable bed, good location and parking albeit not well sign posted.
Shower was terrible, uncontrollably hot on the large shower head or barely a trickle. One cup provided for a two person stay, sometimes details count.

Furniture old and dated.
Tea and coffee provided but no cups or glass to even have a drink of water

The location was ideal being only a few minutes walk from the train station, the room was lovely and spacious considering it was just a room with a single bed, there were tea and coffee making facilities available and there was also a fan already in my room to help with the hot weather, the staff were really friendly and the hotel itself was always clean even the car park outside didn’t have any litter which considering it was next door to a public park was amazing
The windows were a little thin so could hear almost everything from outside but it does look to be an old building and with the location of the hotel there was never really much noise outside anyway so it was only a minor issue

Nothing
Everything. I stepped into the bathroom and a tile lifted. 2 Floorboards were missing in my room. The spell of curry cooking in the morning was nauseating. The shower was more like a piss from a prostate problem.

The property is cosy and clean.
The shower didn't have enough pressure for cold water, and it was horrible to have a shower with boiling water on a 30°C sunny day.
The room didn't have A/C and faced west, I tried to sleep with the window open and the trains passing at night didn't allow me to sleep properly on any of the days I stayed at the lodge.
I only saw staff when I did the check-in and then never saw anyone at all to request a room change.

Location
No soap, no shower gel, no shampoo
6.0 / 10.0
No breakfast included, size of room was good, lovely and quiet, excellent parking facilities.
There is a big toilet dispenser, that stops you sitting on toilet properly, very small ensuite and water in shower couldn't be controlled either freezing or dangerously hot. So couldn't have a shower

Bed was comfortable and it was located where I needed to be
Absolutely ZERO hand soap, shower gel or shampoo. So unable to shower.

Location was good. We were doing a charity walk from London to Birmingham on the Canal and needed accommodation in that area.
Shower was crap. Didn’t work properly.
Electric towel rail - Cable went into cupboard under sink, with plug on end, but no socket for it.
Main hotel/inn door didn’t shut or open properly.
4.0 / 10.0
The location was perfect and there was no breakfast included. Parking was a bonus in such a busy location. The staff were friendly and the room was clean.
The noise was awful. The first night there were people knocking on doors and talking loudly until 1.00am. The doors were banging and it was impossible to sleep. The 2nd night was quieter. I thought it was fellow guests but apparently, having spoken to another guest who was also angry, it was staff. I was so tired it made the days difficult. The shower took ages to warm up and there was a smell of drains every so often.

Good value. Comfy bed. Quiet location by a park, yet just a short walk into central Leighton Buzzard. Free parking. I have stayed here before and would do again.
No shower gel or shampoo, so take your own.

It was clean and bed very comfortable. Helpful staff
It was freezing cold. No heat on and therefore didn’t get a good sleep. Took ages for shower to heat up and then didn’t stay hot long.
8.0 / 10.0
The room was huge and spacious and the bed very very comfortable.
I had phoned ahead to notify the hotelier of my expected time of arrival and I was met by a very friendly and welcoming lady. I don't think they usually have a full time staffed reception, so this was a nice and good personal touch.
I can't fault it for anything. The location wasn't as central as I had hoped but I knew that on booking, and was fine with the as directed by the lovely lady walk which did indeed take only 10 minutes.

Basic, clean & good value for money. Friendly staff.
