Location, space, amenities.

We were expecting to find the usual: shampoo, conditioner, salt & pepper, enough toilet paper for 4 guests for a week, washing detergent & dishwasher soap (there was only one tablet of dishwasher soap for the whole 7 days). Also, there was only one key and tag for the doors, which restricted our movements separately as individuals, since only one person (who has the ref and the key) could lock and open the apartment. In my opinion, these are simple and cheap accessories that wouldn’t cost the host much, but would add a nice gesture to the hospitality.

The flat is quite spacious, has two bathrooms and a large terrace with a table and chairs. Upstairs, there is a fantastic place to work in the form of a stylishly decorated office. The kitchen has a separate dining area with a large table. The location is nice – Belem is quite close to the city centre, but it is flat and easy to get around on foot. Belem itself also offers cool places to visit, and communication with the centre is easy thanks to public transport and taxis.

Unfortunately, our assessment was influenced by several unfavourable factors. Here they are: the process of getting to the premises was very difficult. Messages were sent via WhatsApp because the person employed there does not answer the phone. Instead of telling us once how to get there, we had to constantly write and read messages. It was very annoying. When I went to find a parking space, my family stood at the door for half an hour because we couldn't communicate with the staff. Turning on the heating turned out to be even worse. The instructions were so complicated that two sober people tried to figure it out for half an hour. The instructions gave a clue to find a ladder. It turned out to be stairs, and we found the ladder in the storage room and thought it was the right place. Then the remote control said to press the left button, but it was supposed to be the right one. A nightmare! The flat, especially on the ground floor, is dark and a bit depressing. Old, incomplete crockery. There aren't even any decent coffee cups. Don't count on pepper, salt, oil, coffee or tea - you have to buy everything yourself, including dishwasher tablets. One pot was burnt on the bottom and the fridge seal was so black with mould and bacteria that it probably hadn't been cleaned since it was installed. The bathroom, especially the upper one, is small and there is nowhere to leave your things. The rooms have little storage space for clothes and personal belongings.
