Amália Apartments in Santos

The house is really close to the center (2km from Rossio square) and well connected with the rest of the city through buses. The closest bus station is 700m from the apartment. The apartment was clean and quite big and there was air conditioning and clean towels. The kitchen was cozy and modern. The concierge service was optimal and provided us with answers every time we had a problem.

The house doesn't feel really safe: the main door is always unlocked and the street is really noisy at night. There were a few broken and old objects especially in the bathroom like the socket. The floor was creaking and had some imperfections. We heard from the other apartments when they walked. A bad note is that they didn't warn us about people working in the house (repainting walls) when we arrived, but they were quick to answer when we called for information.

The price and location was good. This was a perfect home base to set up and explore Lisbon. The host was easy to communicate with and proactively reached out with check-in and out instructions. The property was a decent size and the small kitchen was nice to use for a quick breakfast before heading out.

The room is on the first floor so there is a bit of damp/mouldy smell. The house is also on a bit of a hill so expect to do a bit of walking/climbing. Lastly there isn't a metro station nearby so city tram or bus would be the closest public transportation options about 8 mins of walking away.

It was too small, there were few kitchen utensils and towels, and only one chair of each kind. One bed was propped up by books.
