Excellent location, and my room had a fabulous view!
The stairs were a little narrow, but it’s a cool old building, so that’s to be expected. It was an awesome space!

This is the best hostel I’ve visited. They offer various activities and you’ll never feel bored or alone! The volunteers are the best - special thanks to Ariz and Dohun, they made my stay truly feel like a family vacation!! Also thanks for delicious dinners and parties to Sofia, Gabriel, Martyna and Asia 💕 you were the best 🇵🇹 I’m definitely coming back!!!

My experience at Onefam Ribeira
When I arrived at the hostel, I was very well received by the staff. However, there were some aspects that made my stay less comfortable.
The first point is the large number of stairs. I understand this may be due to the building structure or even the city itself, but it could be improved for better convenience.
The room I was initially assigned, even though I chose a 4-bed option, was quite far and had a closed window, along with dark beds and curtains, which created a somewhat enclosed and uncomfortable atmosphere, almost like being in a bunker.
When I raised this concern at the reception, I was told it was the room I had selected, but I was offered the option to upgrade to a single room for an additional cost of around 30 euros. I chose to upgrade, and from that point on, my stay became much more comfortable, with significantly better sleep quality.
Despite these issues, I still consider the hostel to be good overall. Some of the challenges may also be related to the city or general building conditions in Portugal, where I experienced mold issues in other places as well.
The Wi-Fi is reasonable but could be improved, especially on the upper floors. The bed linens, blankets, and mattress could also be of better quality. On the positive side, the cleanliness is very good.
I would recommend the hostel, especially for those choosing single rooms, as the location is excellent.
There are too many stairs, which makes access uncomfortable.
The room felt claustrophobic, like a bunker, with no proper ventilation or natural light.
The bed, linens and mattress could be significantly improved for better comfort.
