The windows and views were amazing! I liked that I didn’t have to pay for parking. It was conveniently located to all we wanted to do in Isle of Skye. Especially loved the proximity to the Fairy Glen!
Our bed was too squishy. We were missing some keys to doors so we couldn’t lock up securely each night, but let’s be honest, who was going to break in? The sheep!? Not a huge concern. We still felt safe.

Great location and view
Heating and hot water was on a timer that did always turn on, hence 2 cold showers and some days could not the house. No firewood supplied as per guide folder. Rang and emailed for assistance - no response, disappointing

All was great

Views were fabulous and place was very clean.
It was not easy to find as gate open and no sign viewable. It is a lovely place but needs some tlc especially to kitchen work surfaces. Kitchen needed a few more things - jug, whisk etc. I did not expect the climb up to the house (especially with heavy luggage) to be so steep and the step surfaces need relaying and the broken lights should be replaced. There needs to be more emphasis in advertising on limited accessibility for older or less able people.

The location was lovely with a beautiful view. A very well laid out property.
The hallway was lovely to walk into.
We liked the upside down lay out as we had such a fab view.
The worktops were sticky.
The sofa was the most uncomfortable sofa I have ever sat on.
The bed sheets were hard and itchy.
The towels were the worst towels I have ever used - I wouldn’t use them for my dog! Very thin, worn out and faded - absolutely terrible.
No basic provisions for people travelling - fool, kitchen roll.

Great property - plenty of room and each room
has a very good en-suite

Modern, comfortable two-story villa with magnificent panoramic sea views. You can watch the ever-changing landscape all day. We had a great time staying there.
Some maintenance would be needed for the wooden plank facade, which suffers from harsh weather conditions, as well as for the lush vegetation, which requires gardening. It’s quite expensive. Referring to the location - with all advantages, it’s difficult to find a decent restaurant within walking distance; you have to use a car. There is one restaurant nearby, but during our stay, it only served its hotel guests.

Overgrown path up to property, no lights and path unsafe in general it looked derelict. Wrong key in lock box we waiting 1 hour to get sorted then did t lock door as it’s too stiff.
Old bedding, old towels, some pillows no covers. Cushion in living room smelly and old. Christmas tablecloth in August. Cutlery and dishes ok but only 4 mismatched wine glasses. Everything had to be washed before use. No light in fridge and broken kickboard. You need a spanner to use dryer… generally unlocked by the overseas owner.

Nice house and good location
The house is in dyer need of renovation. The dish washer and the tumble dryer didn’t work. A lot of the kitchen utilities should have been changed a long time ago. Mold on the curtains on the bath room, and the cleaning was below mediocre with a big chunk of hair in the shower from some earlier guests.

The view. Comfortable beds.
Overpriced. Kitchen not well stocked. Coffee machine didn’t work. Dryer didn’t work. Lock box didn’t work. Place looks tired. For the amount of money, we expected better. Disappointed. Save your money.

Really spacious place with a good view. Close to general store.
There was a wood burning stove, but no log bundle or fire starters left. When I asked about it, because it was mentioned in the guidebook at the property, the hosts messaged me that "it's not allowed to have fire or smoke in the property as the property is all built by timber." ??? However, there was no signage or guidance around this, and in fact the fireplace/ stove was specified as an amenity on the listing. And when I asked directly if it was unsafe to use, they insisted it was in good condition. If you don't want people to use the fireplace, you shouldn't list it as an amenity. Also, there was mould on the shower panelling and shades in the bathroom that could have been cleaner.

the house itself was lovely, the location and views were phenomenal.
That there were hot water issues. we had to press a boost button to get hot water but it didn't last for long, which is not ideal for a group of friends hiking and needing showers. we had to wait for the water to get hot again before all four of us were showered, which delayed our trips. also the view from upstairs was amazing, however the windows were filthy. we came last year and I don't think they had been cleaned since then.

Stunning location and beautiful view - house was comfortable and well appointed.
Uig is a quiet village and there is a lovely short circular walk from the house down past the Village Hall and through the woods next the beach and then back up past the shop and pub which are very close by.
Slightly tired and worn in places - and garden steps and path could have been neatened to make it easier to get luggage up to house.

Location and views.
This is the second and last time we will stay. After first time we thought we would give it another go. Unfortunately no improvements. It is just as bad if not worse. Bugs all over the house, every corner has a spider. including tiny flies in the main bedroom.
Windows need to be cleaned, allthough the view is amazing it was disappointing to have to look through dirty glass.
Tumble dryer is dangerous! It is clearly a condenser dryer, however when starting it the whole room
Is dripping with water and the tumble dryer water drawer is empty! I almost slipped over going in as there was water dripping down the glass door and walls.
Main oven dose not work! Have to use the grill.
Blinds to cover main door is broken so unable to close. And blinds missing from the kids room.

We had a lovely stay at Sea Loch View holiday home. The property was very spacious, bigger than it looked in the photos, and had an amazing view. The host was very helpful and quick to reply to any messages.

+ the view is great
I am not the kind of person to leave negative reviews but since we all felt totally conned with this place here is a list of negative points:
- Check in at 6pm because of the ”cleaning schedule”, which is ridiculous as the place was everything else but clean
- We booked for 6 people but the place was only prepared for 4, meaning we didn’t have bed sheets, covers, pillows towels for 2 people
We wrote to the owner and he told us someone will come the next day. Luckily we found keys to a cupboard (which the owner did not tell us about) and found sheets ourselves.
- There are beds for 4 people and one small, uncomfortable sofa bed for 2 people.
- The kitchen was filthy. All work surfaces were sticky, the oven was fatty, dirty and stank, there were crumbs on the floor.
- There is no furniture on the balcony as the pictures show
- All windows are filthy and even have paint on them from when the wood has been coated
- There were not enough glasses for 6 people, most of the appliances were damaged for example the fridge light doesnt work and one of the hobs doesn’t heat properly
- In general there isn’t a room in the house that doesn’t have something broken whether its a door handle falling off, creaky floorboards, a leaky shower, cracks in the light switches or a broken towel rail.
This pretty new house is in a really bad shape, you can see that no one looks after it.
I recommend to read all the reviews especially the recent ones. We paid 330 pounds a night and expected to stay in a clean, comfortable, well looked after house. It was a big disappointment.

The house was not well stocked. No coffee maker, no hand soap, no simple cooking oils, no laundry soap and things. Since we were renting the whole house if would be nice to have it set up as such with out having to purchase a bunch more things.

The view over the bay from the large windows was exceptional. The layout of the house and sizes of rooms were very good. Wi-fi worked well.
Some relatively minor details were disappointing. Externally, the pathway and garden are overgrown and in need of maintenance (handrail to steps broken in places and the overgrown plants at the entry gates make it hard to open fully to drive in).
Also the main fan oven was not working and there were no coffee making facilities.

Beautiful, light, and airy self-catering property located on the edge of Uig. Within easy walking distance of the grocery store. Very well equipped and everything to a high standard. Spotlessly clean and good local information provided, including on recycling. The large windows and view are fantastic.
A couple of niggles. First the owners were slow to reply to queries about neither wifi nor tv being working when we arrived. Second, all of the heating units had been left on, although all the plugs were turned off, when we arrived. The heating is efficient so the house was very stuffy. Leaving the heating on for guest arrival in winter would be kind, but in May it is not necessary.

Nothing - it’s like the house you have dreamed of!

great view and location
dirty, needs a complete refurb. cannot justify the costs charged. this property is unloved, it could be great but it needs cleaning, redecorating and some new furniture.
utensil drawer, dishwasher, cupboards, fridge were all dirty. walls marked, carpets marked, showers mouldy and tired. bedding old, all different colours and sets.

The views, location, space in the house, the balcony, the windows all along the top floor to the wonderful views. Some areas of the house were clean like the sinks, toilets etc, but other areas missed
It felt like it needed a thoroughly good clean. From the light switches, doors, fridge, edges of dish washer, kitchen bin area, sink to patio doors. It just felt a bit grimy in places which was a real shame as it had such wonderful potential. The door handle on the main bedroom door was loose, so unsafe to close, in case it dropped off as 2 screws missing. The only light in the twin bedded rom only worked from the door or above one of the beds. No mirror in this room either. The handrail outside on the way up to the property was covered in something that looked like mossy fungus, so in need of a good power hose, before anyone actually held onto it.! I was rather surprised to see the owner had requested a 10 score for their excellence, before we were even in the property, and I hope that they will appreciate that in order to reach that, they would need to really get the place thoroughly cleaned. We have high standards, and just arrived at an apartment in Fort Augustus, where it would be easy to give a 10 due to the high standards throughout, which we were expecting at Sea Loch View in Uig!
