Disappointing View

Location and Cleanliness

The view from the room and balcony was non-existent.I booked this apartment at that price because it stated how incredible the views were, well in this apartment there was no view of the lake I would not have paid that amount of money for what I received. I expressed my disappointment, and I was offered a larger apartment for $700 more. This was over my budget.

The view is absolutely spectacular. We spent one full day just sitting on the balcony watching the lake and mountains.

The hill up to the villa is quite steep. It is a tough walk if you are filled with pizza 😅

Lovely few days in a very nice apartment

The apartment was newly refurbished to a high standard and had a lovely balcony/sun terrace. It was a 15min walk down into town which we liked.

Amazing views

Hosts went out of their way to help us get to and from the ferry port. Great grocery store maybe 5 minutes walk down the hill, but be aware the hill coming back up is relatively steep. The view from the private seating area outside is unrivaled - one day we didn’t even leave the apartment just so we could use the patio area more. The apartment is spacious with an epic bathroom setup. The kitchen has most of the things you need to cook. We would definitely stay here again.

The WiFi connection is pretty bad. There are two SSIDs you can connect to - the main Villa Ago one and then an open (no password) one. The apartment we were in got almost no signal from the Villa Ago SSID and was extremely slow if it did connect (about .5mbps). The open SSID was faster (10-15mbps) but had some issues with dropped packets. I did have to work remotely a bit and I wound up tethering to my phone in a few cases. Maybe it was a temporary thing or maybe that’s just this area.

Stylish, clean studio apartment in a great location run by an extremely nice and helpful host.

The stay was amazing. The studio was stylish, clean and comfortable. The location is great, really nice view and walking distance to the lake and restaurants. The host was incredibly helpful, she met us at the apartment for check in and check out, gave us all the information we needed and more. She sent us recommendations for activities, restaurants, taxi services etc. for our stay, was available via Whatsapp to quickly respond to any queries (we needed an iron and ironing board and she came and brought us one within 10min!) and she stayed with us after we checked out to help us out when our taxi back to the airport was late - she helped speak to the driver in italian and made sure we made it to the airport (without her help we would have missed our flight!). I would highly recommend staying at Villa Ago!

a peaceful and very comfortable stay.

The apartment is high quality, spacious, and contains the best of furnishings and equipment. The terrace is huge, and very private, and the view is amazing. During the day you can sit in shade, or sunbathe on the recliners, and in the evening we enjoyed our meals and a glass of wine watching the beautiful lake,and all the twinkling lights around it. It is, however a very long walk to get to the lake, with a steep climb on the way back. It is definitely necessary to have a car there, and/or bikes. Norita, our host was very friendly, and answered our questions very quickly. We could always contact her, and she always had a smile.

The only thing we didn’t like was that the complete apartment is dark grey inside, and that is floor, walls, ceiling and most of the furnishings. we found it much too dark, and had to have lights on most of the time. Also, the position of the window in the bedroom was badly planned. It was in the corner of the room, directly on to the neighbors patio. They naturally enjoyed sitting on their patio until after midnight, and breakfasting there mornings, so it was impossible for us to open the bedroom window hardly at all, as they could see and hear everything in our bedroom, and we could see and hear everything they were saying. this meant not only keeping the window closed, but the shutters as well. It was always completely dark in the bedroom. The a/c worked really well, and was extremely quiet, but it was not so hot there that it was necessary at night, had we been able to open the window instead.

Superb

We had a wonderful time at the beautiful apartment in Gravedona. Everything was brand new in the apartment and it was very stylish and clean. The terrace was amazing with its view over the mountains and lake como. We enjoyed staying at Gravedona, because it was more quiet and not too crowdy there, even in August (compared to the other villages in the south of Como lake). The walk to Gravedona center or the lake and back to the apartment is not very far, but it still takes a little while, because it's up and down a hill, but that's okay. Therefore you get a wonderful view and less noise. We didn't take our bikes with us but this would maybe help to get faster to the city center and back. The contact with Norita was very good, she was always available and gave us a lot of tips about what to do, which restaurants to visit etc. We would recommend this apartment to everyone.

Awesome studio with super host!

It was great to have our meals on the balcony overlooking the lake. The spa-like studio was beautifully appointed, and only a short walk from the beach and convenience stores. We hope to come back soon!

Rauhallinen ja siisti huoneisto ihanilla maisemilla. Omistaja erittäin mukava ja avulias.

Ihana huoneisto, joka oli erityisen siisti ja rauhallinen. Norita oli todella ystävällinen ja auttavainen. Hän antoi paljon suosituksia eri ravintoloista ja palveluista. Pieni kävely keskustasta ei haitannut, vaan teki ihan hyvää :) Maisemat parvekkeelta upeat ja suuri terassi. Terassilla aurinkotuolit, grilli ja virkistävä ulkosuihku.

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Unterkunftsmöglichkeit in der Villa Ago Appartement, da es sehr oft ausgebucht ist. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gehoben. Besonders hat uns an der Einrichtung, eine Mischung aus modernen und antiken Möbeln gefallen. Der Ausblick zum Como See und zu den Bergen ist herrlich. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und der Strand sind zu Fuß gut erreichbar. Auch in den naheliegenden Restaurants findet man viel Auswahl. Die Vermieterin Norita hat an jede Kleinigkeit gedacht so dass man sich sehr wohl gefühlt hat. Sie gibt immer tolle Tipps für Essen oder Trips. Man kann sich auf ihre Empfehlung verlassen. Es war unsere erste Reise nach Italien. Die Menschen sind sehr nett. Sprachlich kommt man sehr gut zurecht mit englisch und deutsch. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut.
