Rob’s property is very comfortable. I liked how central it is, it was nice to have the apartment as a base after exploring all day.

It was hard to move around in the room with the bed taking up so much floor space

Rob is very nice, intresting to learn some history of the canals and amsterdam from a local that has lived here many years. Nice change to live in an apartment than a hotel/hostel. Great market nearby.

Tiny bit more space around the bed but you trade space for a very comfy sleep.

Great location and very comfortable room! The host is very helpful and easy to communicate with.

Nothing in particular

The location was wonderful, and I had initially been excited about doing a homestay (this is definitely more like a homestay than an airbnb or hotel so just be prepared for that if you stay here). The host had very good recommendations about things to do in town.

The host is very particular about how things are done, things like how much water you put in a kettle, how you use the kettle (not leaving water in it etc.), how doors are opened and closed, etc. I came in exhausted from my flight and was asked to practice opening and closing the door to make sure I didn't do it too loudly (happily, I did pass that test). Offered to allow me to do laundry there upon arrival but then seemed very frustrated when I approached him about it, and so I did my laundry elsewhere rather than have any sort of conflict on my vacation. For these reasons I unfortunately found it very difficult to relax when I was there and tried to stay out as much as possible.
