The host was extremely helpful. The home is much nicer than the pictures reflect. I highly recommend staying here. Bonus* pretty easy to get to within the Lixouri area (some homes are tough to access)

Villa Luke was a really big pleasant surprise for us. Although we had checked all the information - photos, description, location, in real life the reality was even more pleasant. We rented the house with our friends and decided to divide our two-week vacation into two parts - 7 days in Paliki (near Luxuri) and 7 days near the capital. This part of the island (Paliki) is definitely more picturesque, less inhabited and less vain. Exactly in the style of Villa Luke - attractive with its family spirit, obviously built for living and not for renting. Everything was at our disposal - a huge living room with 2 dining rooms and a cooking area, verandas with fabulous views, a large yard, a garage with impeccably maintained green grass, 2 huge verandas - one in a cocktail lounge style, the other with a wonderful view and a table for a cozy family dinner. There is also a relaxation area among the pine trees and grass. Inside, with warm tones and a precise, unobtrusive modern style, 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms and a huge living room divided by two dining rooms and a cooking area awaited us. We were looking forward to coming home after a day of beaching as if we were at home. Villa Luke is in the middle of the most exotic beaches, which we recommend for people with an exploratory nature. We recommend it sincerely and wholeheartedly. We thank Eleni for the attention and invisible care that we felt resided in the house.

We are two pairs of friends. We rented Villa Louque in Loukerata di Lixouri (Kefalonia) through Booking.com from the morning of August 29 to September 7, 2022. At the time of booking, the premises were excellent: a large house for the four of us with a double bedroom and an independent bathroom available for each couple plus an equipped kitchen to feel free to prepare breakfast and sometimes dinner according to our tastes and desires. Plus two other rooms we don't use as bedrooms. There was also a large living room with TV. And a garden.

We were welcomed by Eleni (sister of the owner of the house) who was willing to satisfy our every wish and solve any problem that could disturb our stay in the villa. And so it has been on at least a couple of occasions: right from the start when he promptly repaired the faulty drain of one of the two toilets and supplied us with two teapots complete with milk jugs, crockery that was missing from the household equipment ( those who use leaf tea know how much a teapot is needed instead of a normal kettle). At our request she took steps to provide us with new clean sheets mid-stay. But it is on this issue of the equipment of the house that I would like to open a frank but severe reflection. In this kitchen you could certainly improvise an essential meal but after two attempts for as many home dinners we gave up. Knives, cutting boards, ladles and pans reduced to the bone, mismatched and very inefficient. Lighting reduced to a dim central light with the hood and hob LEDs out of use for some time. We are Italian and we also love to make good food. And maybe even a homemade dessert, if the weather is bad outside or we miss home desserts. It is also not conceivable that we should appeal to the courtesy of our host to get a linen and towel change at least once during our nine night stay! It is true that we were able to use an efficient washing machine for our laundry, but the cleaning of our clothes is one thing and the changes / kits of the house are another thing. Finally, we did not benefit from periodic cleaning, we did it ourselves. I therefore consider that this lease was not worth € 1885, but at least € 500 less. We have been traveling in Italy and abroad for many years. Also in 2019, in Kastellorizo, in the Dodecanese, for a Villa of the same size - in the same period - we enjoyed much more complete services at a lower cost. When we understood that this was the situation, we stopped making requests to Eleni.
