The River House is an adorable place to stay right on the Roanoke River and Roanoke Green Way. Rent bikes 500 feet from the house, walk to downtown, float the river with tubes, kayaks, paddle boards, or canoe rentals available! So much to do in Roanoke and you are in the heart of it!
A 100 foot high star atop a mountain and visible from miles around welcomes you to the "Star City of the South," a great beginning for your weekend getaway to this city rich in culture, history, fun, and entertainment. Close to the star is the Mill Mountain Zoo, where you'll see the endangered Snow Leopard, Amur Tiger and Red Wolf, along with 40-plus other animal species. Great place to watch the fireworks on July 3rd. We had a few ants in the kitchen, but the cooking utensils were great. Comfortable beds. Could have used another comfy chair in the living room..it was too hot to really enjoy the walking trail, so we grabbed a movie instead and we could have used another way to prop up tired feet;) lovely home and had a variety of condiments in the fridge and spices available which was nice. Thanks!

Such a clean, comfortable, cozy home for our visit. Will definitely stay here again-- worth it for the quick walk to Blue Cow Ice Cream alone :) The basement was a big surprise- so much room! Very nice deck to relax on and even enjoyed the live music from a nearby venue directly from our own deck.

Where is the river??? Cannot see it from the property. Neighborhood is sketchy, homeless sleeping at corner. Power plant very near house. Good location, but street blocked at the end, so had to go around each time.House was very nicely furnished, but very small bathroom. Listing was not accurate.We were disappointed.
