I was in town for a wedding in the area with my brother and father and we found this 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house for rent. The space was perfect for us with all the amenities we could have asked for. There was a little problem with the wifi initially but we were able to figure it out. The space was great with a little yard outside and a balcony as well. We weren’t in the house much but for when we were it was all we could have asked for. I would absolutely recommend and if I were to come to the area again this is the first place I’d look to stay at.

Das Haus liegt am westlichen Ortsausgang von Rio, direkt am Meer. Der Blick von der Terrasse ist sensationell. Man blickt auf den Golf von Patras und auf eine der größten Hängebrücken der Welt. Ich hätte nie gedacht, dass eine Brücke schön sein kann. Diese ist es.
Es gibt drei großzügige Schlafzimmer und einen schönen Garten. Alles war sehr sauber, die Ausstattung sehr gut und in einem sehr gutem Zustand. Alles wurde gekauft, um es auch selber zu benutzen, nicht nur für die Ausstattungsliste.
Rio ist zumindest am Wochenende nicht ganz leise. Hier trifft sich die Region. Es gibt bis auf ein paar Russen kaum Touristen. Hier ist man im „echten“ Griechenland
Der Check In war trotz deutlicher Verspätung, kein Problem. Chris ist ein sehr netter Host.
Ein Strand ist 5 min. entfernt, der andere 15 min. am östlichen Ortsausgang. Hier gibt es auch sehr nette Beachclubs. Mit den schönsten Stränden der Pelepones kann Rio aber nicht konkurrieren.
Dafür ist Rio der perfekte Ort, um die nördliche Pelepones zu erkunden.
Delphi, Olympia und Korinth sind in etwas mehr als einer Stunde zu erreichen. Wer seine griechische Insel nicht missen möchte, ist in einer Stunde in Kilini um mit der Fähre nach Zakynthos oder Kefalonia zu fahren.
Nafpaktos(Lepanto) ist in 30 min erreicht. Die Zahnradbahn nach Kalavryta ebenfalls.
In Patras ist man in zehn Minuten. Bei Tag nicht schön aber ein wunderbares Erlebnis in der Nacht.
Die Straßen sind voll, man kann sich gar nicht entscheiden, in welches Restaurant oder Cafe man gehen möchte.
Die beste Anreise ist über Athen und dann einen Mietwagen. Die Autobahn ist neu und man fährt etwas mehr als 2 Stunden bis zur Ausfahrt Rio.
Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!
