Our 3 families rented all three homes in this very special place! We love being close to nature & the homes were so unique & surrounded by nature. Orlando is an excellent host & we met others working on the newest home which looks spectacular too! All homes were clean, well appointed with the special touches of fresh flowers, plenty of extras & very comfortable. Orlando arranged a chef to prepare our dinners -5 stars to Chef Jimmy! Everything was perfect! Thank you so much for a memorable stay. We hope to return next year. Pura Vida!

Located in Cabo Matapalo, You will find traditional polite/generous Costa Rican culture blended with surfer community ideals--nothing could be more welcoming! The houses on this property were as beautiful as the local wildlife and beach-front views. Located at the very end of a rocky road that resembled an old creek bed, this journey was something we quickly grew accustomed to. We felt safe and at ease while at our "home away from home." You will want rent an off-road capable vehicle (we had a Toyota Hilux pickup and a Hyundai Tucson, which were perfect, just go slowly) or hire a 4x4 taxi in Puerto Jimenez, the local town (a fun destination that embodies Pura Vida). Be sure to stock up on groceries if you aren't wanting to make a daily journey to town. There is a local bar/restaurant (Martina's) a short ways away from the property with amazing Friday-night parties, and just up the road is a resort-style pool and restaurant with top-shelf fare that welcomes all.

The Casa Verde house is right on the beach with a soundscape of crashing waves to soothe you to sleep. Contiki is a short walk up the hill affording a private escape. A nature-lovers paradise, howler monkeys sing in the distance while macaws and other wildlife perch in the trees. There are also gorgeous sandy beaches just up the road frequented by surfers and great for swimming. It really was amazing!

This is an eco-friendly home that primarily relies on solar power and well water, but there is a municipal water backup and gas-powered generator to ensure the amenities are always available. For example, there is a full-size washer and dryer and instant-hot water that we found more than useful. Our on-site host, David, was available 24-hours/day for anything we needed. Car tire a bit low? No problem! Need suggestions for the local area? He had guides available for anything we were interested in. He was friendly and professional, and had a surprising wealth of knowledge beyond his years. During our stay we hiked Corcovado, paddled kayaks through a mangrove, and even had a professional chef come to the house to prepare a traditional meal. If you are adventurous, this is the destination you are looking for!

We were sad to leave Casa Verde, but the incredible experience we had will remain with us forever!

Pura vida, mae!
