About this house rental

Our oceanfront home is perfect for two to three couples or families travelling together. The house is situated on the Strait of Juan de Fuca with panoramic ocean and mountain views from every room. It features three bedrooms (two with private sitting areas), two bathrooms, a separate laundry room, a spacious viewing deck, a hot tub, and high-speed internet connection. All bedrooms are separated from the living areas of the house for maximum privacy and the kitchen is fully equipped and ready for cooking - if you like to barbecue a gas grill is on the deck and ready to use. The living room features comfortable furniture, cozy pillows and bookcases filled with books and magazines, as well as a wooden chest filled with board-games and playing cards. The nautical decorating touches of shells, driftwood and candles give this home a relaxed yet modern ambiance, fit for any vacationer.

From the comfort of this beautiful house, you can enjoy whale watching, fishing from the rocks or simply relaxing to the sound of the ocean waves. The house also offers a stone terrace by the cliff edge with a fire pit and sitting area. The closest access to the beach is just meters from the home via steep, ladder-like stairs. The beach is less accessible in October through April as the rough Pacific weather during this time of year, pushes waves into Juan de Fuca Strait and against the cliffs of our property. This home will give you the best of what Vancouver Island has to offer. It is situated just 7 minutes from the village of Sooke and 45 minutes from Victoria.

Our family had the most incredible vacation at this beautiful home in Victoria, British Columbia. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the peaceful setting, breathtaking ocean views, and the cozy, welcoming feel of the house.The absolute highlight of our trip was seeing an orca swim by—right from the deck! We were enjoying a quiet morning outside when we noticed a dark fin cutting through the water just offshore. It was a single orca, gracefully making its way along the coast. Watching it move through the calm water with the backdrop of the open sea was surreal—like a private showing from nature herself. It was a truly unforgettable moment for the whole family.The home itself was spotless and beautifully maintained, with large windows that filled the space with natural light and offered stunning ocean views from almost every room. The deck became our favorite hangout spot—perfect for sipping coffee in the morning, reading in the afternoon, and stargazing at night.This place is the perfect blend of coastal charm and comfort, with easy access to downtown Victoria and local nature spots, yet far enough away to feel peaceful and private. We made so many wonderful family memories here—and that orca sighting was the cherry on top.We can't wait to return!

We stayed here for five nights with our dog to celebrate my birthday. The house was exactly as pictured and was very clean and well equipped. The listing does not lie- the steps down to the beach are a bit precarious, so it would definitely not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The hot tub seemed very clean and well taken care of- the views were also incredible. There is limited Canadian cell phone network coverage- my phone was connected to AT&T the whole time- but the wifi in the VRBO is very fast and has a good range.

The property was a great place to spend some quiet time away. The view is the star attraction here. The property is comfortable and with better weather the available outdoor space would definitely enhance the stay. Minor cleaning issues (e.g. used coffee grounds left in coffee maker by last guest) were discovered at check in and were a bit off-putting and disappointing, but on balance the property was great.

This property is absolutely amazing. From the moment you walk through the gate you will be in heaven. The house itself is one of the most beautiful rentals that we have ever stayed at. We loved our stay here. We gasped when we walked in the front door and saw the view. The beach and cliff side seating area were our favourite place to hangout. We saw humpbacks and orcas and sea lions every day and a bear! It’s the perfect location to get to all the sights too. A great midway point between town and the beaches.

I stayed at Otter Point with my husband and 2 year old as well as our parents. We all were blown away by the views and the setting. The location is great for going in to Sooke for supplies or going further afield to Victoria or Port Renfrew. We found it to be a really good base and hope to stay again soon. The hot tub was a welcome treat after hikes on the many nearby trails. The fireplace provided nice ambiance and warmth in the living room. The primary bedroom ensuite bath was the only downside. It is awkward and the shower is extremely small.

I brought my dad to Victoria Island for a short get away. The house is great and the view is always amazing. Our second day I woke up to dolphins feeding, whales in the afternoon, and seals in the evening with a brief glimpse of another set of whale fins. The beds were comfortable but do squeak when you move. The house was well stocked. Peter was a great host and responded to my email immediately when I had a question. Would definitely stay again.

This house is in a stunning waterfront location with great views, a huge deck and is close to all the beaches and trails along the Juan de Fuca Strait. Everything you need to be comfortable and relax is here. We loved the hot tub and the comfortable furniture indoors and out. The host even supplies binoculars for ocean watching! Peter, our host, was easy to contact. We would come back in a flash! Thank you Peter!!!!
