What We Love About This Home
Grand in scale with contemporary styling, original works of art and cheerful ambiance, this luxurious gated vineyard estate offers secluded privacy and sweeping views of the Sonoma Valley. It features 3 ensuite bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in the main house, an office and an additional sleeping room in the pool house and accommodates a total of 8 overnight guests.
The exterior architecture is modeled after a modern Italian villa and the landscaping is designed to capture the stunning views as well as highlight the elegant swimming pool and spa. Gated, with a main residence and guesthouse on the property, there is ample room for up to 8 guests.
Interior Details
The main house is approximately 3,000 square feet and has 3 bedrooms (all upstairs), all with ensuite bathrooms. Downstairs is an office and a well-designed kitchen with all the amenities for enthusiastic cooks The spacious, contemporary and stylish dining room seats 10 for dinner and is an inviting room to host beautiful wine country meals.
A large living room with wrap-around decks takes full advantage of the property's hillside location. From the living area guests can enjoy mountain, vineyard and pool views.
Upstairs the generous primary suite has a king bed and a flat screen TV. A spacious private terrace offers the perfect seating area to enjoy the magical vista surrounding you. The primary bath has abundant natural light and has been remodeled with a freestanding tub and separate shower and toilet.
The 2nd and 3rd cheery bedrooms have queen beds and each has their own newly remodeled ensuite bathroom (with shower). A lovely large terrace off one of the guest rooms offers a relaxing sunset view of the mountain and vineyards.
There is a large office and separate TV room downstairs for a private workspace or for quiet television viewing.
There is a large charming and contemporary pool house with a full bathroom, flat screen TV and fitness area with free weights and a Peloton bike on the first floor and a large open room on the second floor with a king bed, sofa, a large flatscreen TV, and french doors that lead to a balcony with expansive views of the vineyard and pool area.
Exterior Details
An outdoor patio with a dining table for 8 plus multiple lounge chairs and a large fire-pit is the perfect place to enjoy summer evenings alfresco, under the olive trees and by the vines.
This stunning private 1.7 acre estate is located in the heart of Sonoma's wine country halfway between Kenwood/Glen Ellen and the historic square in downtown Sonoma, close to vineyards, wineries, tasting rooms and restaurants.
Good to Know
Pool is not fenced so may not be suitable for guests with small children. Pool is solar heated, temperatures are warmer from May through September. October through April the pool will be too chilly to swim.

The house is awesome. The pictures don’t come close to showing the beauty of the grounds. Very convenient to downtown Sonoma and a good starting point for everywhere. House is very well appointed and very comfortable. Several great seating, gathering areas outside. Awesome guest house. Hard to imagine anything better.

Villa Casterno is 100% brilliant. There's more to the house than shown in the photos. Every room is tastefully decorated and comfortable. The kitchen has everything a serious chef needs. The property is large and private, with several distinct areas to sit, eat, sip, read and view the sunset. There are incredible views of the valley and mountains from every room. We loved the pool and played bocce most nights. Sonoma is minutes away, and day trips to Healdsburg, Bodega Bay, the Russian River Valley and Napa are easy. We also took walks in lovely parks minutes from the property. The property manager was responsive and easy to work with. We had been considering a trip to Italy, but we're glad we chose Villa Casterno instead. Five stars - highly recommended!

We were a group of 4 couples who have rented homes for a number of years together. Everyone agreed this home is beautiful, well stocked and very comfortable. Would definitely come back.

My Guests and I experience at this property was impressive. Amenities and refined living that should not be understated, the experience was not only a complete immaculate home but added extras made the stay wonderful and even surprising in the style of what California living can offer. The special occasion of a wedding nearby that we attended was made that much more special with this magnificent stay for the week. However, if this was the sole destination it would not disappoint. This is a property well worth your consideration.
