Comfortable (for those capable of using stairs) and well located apartment, with access problems.

Location superb for us, close to the venue of the conference. Easy and private parking. The apartment was clean and provided the essentials in the bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen for our stay. I am not sure about the age of the primary rooms, but this part of the apartment oozed elegance and history with its beautiful moldings and high ceilings. Since there was a separate entrance and although located on a main square, the place was very quiet.

FIRST: We could not access the apartment upon arrival. We never received any welcome notice with instructions for accessing the apartment. When I contacted the intermediary agency, they were essentially useless,, responding only that we needed to contact the owner and when I finally reached a human being, their promise to get back to me with a solution to avoid having to sleep in our car was not kept. I never heard from them. Multiple calls to the phone number of the owner went to an answering machine. There were no instructions at the door. We were finally able to find help by asking at the pizza parlor across the street who suggested checking at the conciergerie down the street. There my partner found a person with the key who let us into the apartment with some sort of explanation of a dropped ball. We have also not heard a word from Booking.com after I sent a complaint. NO APOLOGIES OR EXPLANATIONS. NEXT, there were multiple stairs to navigate, not only to reach the apartment, but within the apartment from kitchen to living room, then to one of the bedrooms on the first level. To reach the second level, essentially an attic, with the second bathroom and third bedroom, there was another stairway! FINALLY, the heating system was not quite sufficient. We were not in the apartment most of the time, but when we were, it was quite chilly despite multiple radiators. I would not have wanted to be there in winter!

Clean apartment, but too many mosquitoes and only 1 usable shower.

Location was nice, close to restaurants in Carentan. Rooms were clean.

In the upstairs shower the only option for temperature was very hot or burn-your-skin-off hot. Only the downstairs shower was normal. The bedroom upstairs was covered in mosquitoes, they seemed to be hiding in the wooden beam on ceiling. My son woke up with 30-35 mosquito bites on him after 1 night. All the stairs in the apartment made it not very young kid friendly or elderly friendly.

Beautiful space, lacking in responsive staff

Comfortable beds, free parking, pet friendly, two full bathrooms, tons of space, full kitchen, great location near restaurants etc.

Check-in was impersonal, Wifi didn’t work well, we had to buy our own toilet paper as they were nearly out with no extra when we arrived, not enough towels (2) for our family (7) and no remedy for these issues when requested. Also beware of parking; our rear wiper was ripped off and needs to be fixed, not just replaced. I do suspect these issues will be remedied for future guests. It was an amenity issue, not an apartment issue.

This apartment is a gem of a place to stay.

The apartment is beautiful. Retaining some of the original features-floor and entrance staircase were amazing! Stephanie could not have been more helpful both in advance and on arrival. We will definitely try to visit again sometime. Excellent value for money.

Entry arrangement very poor Waited more than 4 hours before we were let in By then it was 19 20 - we had said we would arrive 1500 - 1600 When ringing the number provided we initially just got a recorded message A key in the key safe could have solved the problem We were quite anxious by 19 20 as travelling by bike so options for finding an alternative at that time of night limited and ringing just gave us another recorded message Would have at least liked an explanation or apology We had hoped to use the kitchen to cook but had to pay for a meal out as unsure when the saga would be solved

Appartement spacieux et bien entretenu. Très propre. Equipements corrects et vaisselle suffisante. Idéal pour 5-6 personnes. Situation centrale dans la ville - avec places de parc en suffisance - mais très calme. Parfait !

Escaliers très raides : je n'aimerais pas y loger avec de jeunes enfants ! Wifi ne fonctionne pas à l'étage supérieur : il faudrait installer un répéteur.

Ruim en prettig verblijf

Ruim verblijf, makkelijk te komen met de auto en vanaf het treinstation. Goede locatie naar veel tweede wereld oorlog bezienswaardigheden.

Ingang naar de accomodatie was behoorlijk 'verstopt' (letterlijk achter een openslaande deur naar de prive parkeerplaats). Tip naar de host: Gebruik foto's om de aankomst en de check-in te vereenvoudigen. Gebruik ook foto's voor waar de afval containers zijn.
