Modern villa with a beautiful view looking over the sea and to Chania. Very good infinity pool and living room area. Nice living room and everything very inviting to hang around and chill and enjoy. We liked the very beautiful setting the most. Well maintained garden area. Kitchen is well stuffed with all necessary tools. We enjoyed our 10 days there and we loved it most of the times.
- Cleaning should have been every three days. On first time bed linens not changed, service maybe 45 mins and very "light". Third cleaning was skipped clompletely without notice. In 10 days floor was not cleaned once. Cleaning service definitely not up to the standard and not what was booked and paid for. A lot of apologies (“sorry management makes the plans”) but should just be plain refund for it.
- I also requested extra cleaning service as advertised on the website before arrival but was told it is not available as the cleaning staff has to do other villas.
- Barbecue was very dirty on arrival. Had not been cleaned for a very long time and also after cleaning did not work properly and was partly fixed when finally repaired after 5 days. (temperature sign still not working)
- Wifi did not work for two days.
- Waste management needs to be improved. No separation in the villa, very small basket for a house for 10 people.
- Several minor things like several electricity/lightning plugs not fixed to the walls properly, soap holder loose
- two of the five rooms are in basement with little to no daylight
- Airport is close (5km) and villa is directly under takeoff area and can be quite noisy especially when military jets take off.

The location and views from Villa Jamila are just breathtaking, even more beautiful than the online photos show! From the back patio and pool deck, there is nothing in front to obstruct the amazing 180-degree views of the sea and mountains – pure paradise! The Villa itself is pure luxury: very spacious and private, with a well-equipped kitchen, modern décor, very comfortable beds, and air conditioning that works well. Be aware that two of the five bedrooms are in the basement with small windows, but they are comfortable and function well. The location is a quick drive to several very nice, sandy beaches (we really liked Kalathas beach about 5 minutes away), tavernas (try Bourakis and Mitsos in the next village), minimarts and supermarkets. The manager, Vasilis, responded quickly to resolve any issues that came up. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return!
These are not really criticisms but a few things to be aware of:
The flight path for the airport lies right over the Villa. There were military exercises going on during our stay, and the noise from the jets is very loud (the commercial jets are not that loud). However, it didn’t bother us that much since it only occurred a few times each day and not in the middle of the night when we were sleeping.
There are several stray cats that hang around the Villa. One of our daughters took pity on the starving kittens and fed them which didn’t help with encouraging them to leave!
The cleaning woman comes twice a week to clean. Because of COVID, we were required to leave the Villa entirely for about 4 hours each time.
A suggestion for management is to leave instructions on how to operate the appliances. The washing machine has labels that are in Greek, and the dishwasher and stove have symbols that were not obvious to us. It took some time (and random pushing of buttons) to get the appliances to work.
