About this cottage rental

The Cottage on the Pointe in Barbeau. The St. Mary's River is on two sides. Relax and enjoy the Freighter View. The down-bound Freighters come into view and pass within 100 feet of the property. You can watch each one for approximately 45 minutes depending upon their speed.

If you want to get close to freighters, this is location to stay at. The cottage is very nice and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. This was our second visit here for watching freighters and the only downside is that you only see the down bound freighters. the up bound freighters pass on the East side of Neebish Island, but it is only about a 30 minute drive north to Rotary Island to watch them and explore Sault St. Marie. Thanks Kelly for sharing this location for others to enjoy.

A very cool log cottage in one the best private locations for viewing down bound freighters up close. The place was purposely built for viewing the water from almost every room. Quiet and relaxing in a somewhat remote area of the eastern U.P. You will not be disappointed!! (Boatnerd heaven)
