The rorbu was located in a quiet place and the decor was very rustic and homely, allowing us to experience how it was like to live in a fishermen’s cabin. It is also conveniently located in the middle of Lofoten, so it takes about a 1.5h drive to either Å or Svolvær, and a 20min drive from Leknes airport.
The hosts were very friendly too! They took time to explain the various must-see sights in Lofoten and even drove 30min to the rorbu during bad weather to fix our toilet. Really appreciate that they went out of their way to make us feel right at home. (:

Typisch verblijf in een authentieke Rorbu. Heel vriendelijke verhuurder. Rustige omgeving gelegen aan een haven van Ballstad. Alles in orde in het huisje.

Si tratta di un rorbu originale (ha più di 100 anni), tutto in legno, perfettamente ristrutturato dotato di ogni comfort, arredato con particolari e abbellimenti che riescono a mantenere una patina di vissuto tale da farci sentire immediatamente a proprio agio. E' molto spazioso, con un ingresso a pavimento riscaldato, due camere al piano superiore (5 letti) e un'ampia sala che dispone pure di un soppalco con altri due letti lasciati nello stile originale dei pescatori dell'epoca. Completamente attrezzato (lavastoviglie, lavatrice, forno, microonde, piastra induzione, tostapane, bollitore, set di stoviglie e pentole completo). Posto auto, WiFi. Situato nel porticiolo di Ballstad in zona tranquilla, un luogo dedicatoa pesca e senza caos, affacciato sul mare con una gradevole vista. Da Ballstad si raggiungono facilmente le zone più interessanti delle Lofoten e quindi considero la posizione ottimale dal punto di vista logistico. Il calore dell'ambiente è anche dato da oggetti di modernariato (specialmente relativi a barche e pesca) diffusi all'interno, a giochi da tavolo e per bambini e a libri qua e là, tutto contribuisce a creare un senso di calore che ti invoglia a godere della casa stessa oltre che del luogo. Una scelta per noi azzeccatissima e un dolore doverlo lasciare. Esiste anche un'area esterna sul mare con tavolo e barbecue, ma clima e neve non ci hanno concesso di usufruirne.
Difficile trovare qualcosa di negativo in questo luogo incantevole.
