The location had a breathtaking view and was one of the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen

There is nothing negative to point. Everything was excellent - place, staff, food, room. Very pleasant, homey atmosphere. We enjoyed very well. We also got from the staff recipe for their excellent home made dumplings. Test them when you are there :-)!

All was simply super. If we are in Trento area again it stays our first choice.

Great once we got there. We did not realise how far and steep it was. Our clutch suffered and we had to order an expensive Taxi. But the service and view in the morning made up for it. Very friendly Taxi driver Helmut- only can recommend him!

The location is great - amazing view, places to sit outside, parking space.

It takes 20 minutes to get to the location (top of the mountain). There is not a lot to do there, so another 20 minutes to get down to the nearest town, and another 20 to climb back. The staff do not speak English, so communication is limited.

Spectacular View!

If you don't have a car, it might be difficult to reach this place. The road is quite steep BUT it is so worth the drive. Upon stepping onto the balcony, I was amazed with the outstanding view. I could have stayed in the balcony all the time! The breakfast was very varied and delicous.

Exceptional

The Greiterhof is located at 1300 meters above sea level and has an amazing view over Partschins and Meran. We had a room with balcony. Since the Greiterhof has been rebuilt, the rooms are pretty new and well equipped. The host himself takes care of everything and is super friendly. Overall it's a very familiar atmosphere and it is a perfect place for hiking.

Beautiful location, the view from the balcony is just amazing. Host was warm and friendly, made us nice breakfast in the morning. Eggs were delicious! WiFi is good.

Pillows a bit too soft for me and husband, had neckache after that. We were stuck at the gate for a long time (do note if the car is too near the gate it will not open). Host could not speak English so we had issues communicating as we do not know German or Italian.

Hochgangscharte

It is a 15 minute drive up a series of switchbacks from Partschins but that trade-off is outweighed by the stunning view over Algund, Meran and beyond and the incomparable hospitality of the Pircher family. We had one of the suites and it was fantastic to stagger out on to the balcony to soak up the morning Suedtirol rays. And then there was sunset. And finally, by night you can watch the lights in the valley below twinkle like an inverted sky. The bathrooms were modern and spotless. Whoever selected the bathroom furnishings obviously had good taste. Towels were fluffier than a Labrador puppy. There is no TV in the room but my wife appreciated me talking to her for once, so it s a highly recommended stay to re-connect with your loved one! Breakfast was enjoyable, particularly the boiled eggs (6 minutes), the homemade honey, jams and preserves. A range of cold meats and cheeses was also offered in addition to a varied basket of breads. Great walks nearby. We managed to hike up to the seven Spronser Seen lakes above Greiterhof, via the Hochganghaus and Hochgangsharte. When we explained our intentions at breakfast, Mrs Pircher was slightly concerned but armed with her healthy and filling breakfast and some of her homemade schnaps, we looped around the seven lakes and back to Greiterhof for an evening meal. Mrs Pircher had the local mountain rescue team on standby and she was overjoyed when we returned 8 hours later; bloodied, broken and with a pronounced limp. Evening meals are simple and fresh, with gulasch, lamb stews, eggs based dishes, salads etc and were perfect after a long walk. All washed down with some red wine, beer and the ubiquitous schnaps. There are also other food options in the area, although most of these would involve a drive back down the hill – particularly the wonderful Schnalshuberhof in Oberplars. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay and we will hopefully see you again in the future.

Absolut empfehlenswert

Wir hatten leider nur eine Nacht im Greiterhof verbracht auf der Durchreise. Die Straße bis dorthin war kurvig und schmal, aber es war wenig Verkehr und gut zu schaffen. Belohnt wurden wir mit einer herrlichen Aussicht und Ruhe, einem Leckeren Essen, sauberes Zimmer mit bequemen Matratzen und sehr nette Wirtsleute. Das Frühstück war lecker und reichlich. Alles in einem einfach wunderschön. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Die Lage des Greiterhofs ist einfach Traumhaft, die Familie Pircher so wie auch die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter wahren äußert freundlich. Fahren gerne wieder hin.

Wir hatten ein neues, großzügiges Badezimmer. Das Essen am Abend war sehr lecker und das Frühstück sehr gut und vielseitig!

Wir hatten leider ein Zimmer ohne Balkon und zur Bergseite hin. Da waren wir ziemlich enttäuscht, weil wir wegen der tollen Aussicht im Greiterhof gebucht hatten.

Frische Früchte zum Frühstück wären noch schön gewesen, aber sonst war es lecker. Die Anfahrt ist etwas mühsam, da weit oben und die Strasse ziemlich schmal ist, dafür wird man oben mit der schönen Aussicht belohnt…

Relax in montagna

Era esattamente ciò di cui avevo bisogno, qualche giorno in pace e relax, il giardino è ben curato con una vista meravigliosa, ci sono i lettini, c'è una saletta lettura per quando fa brutto tempo. I gestori sempre gentilissimi e disponibili. Colazione molto abbondante e completa di tutto, le marmellate fatte in casa erano buonissime!
