Casa Areal de Santa Barbara

Spent one night at Casa Areal because I wanted to be close to the beach and the location was closer than I expected! The property is well-organized with clear communication and instructions. Everything was spotlessly clean and true to the photos in the listing. Staff/owners very friendly. Highly recommend if you are exploring the north coast of São Miguel and looking for an affordable option walking distance to the beach.

Nice short stay, clean and very comfortable. Enjoyed breakfast, it was plentiful and the owner was around to assist and had a chance to meet all his guests. We had a shared washroom, and it was kept clean. Great outdoor Tavern on the corner with great food and drinks.

Shared washroom on main floor, while room was on upper level.

Location

Ac was not as strong as I expected .

The location in Santa Barbara is nice.

Overpriced. The pictures are misleading. We booked the seaview suite, which is basically located in a hostel dorm. The ocean view is quite far away. But yes, you can see the sea. The building/room is outdated. They redid the wall behind the bed to something modern and nice, with wood, and took their booking pictures facing this way. The bathroom is small. The bed is highly uncomfortable. The breakfast is a joke. There was cold coffee, cornflakes, some bread, juice, jam and biscuits. The communication was bad, nearly non-existing. We arrived and had not receive any information on how to get in the building and room.
