My family and I really enjoyed our stay in this home. The location was so convenient – within walking distance to the beach and many restaurants/stores. The house was the perfect size for our family of 3 plus a dog. A few strange little quirks like the shower head positioned awkwardly making it difficult to shower and a super old oven... but to be expected with such an old home that has been renovated! Plenty of clean towels & sheets, fun board games and old movies available. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

This place was really cute, loved the retro style and location was super convenient. The mattress was pretty firm downstairs but suited us fine. I would imagine the upstairs mattress being a little bit rougher to sleep on. The grocery store, beach, and a few stores/restaurants are within walking distance. My only complaint is for the price, a 10 am check out time is a bit rough. That aside, it was sweet to find a spot that was dog friendly, and we had a great time checking out the local beaches. Cape blanco is amazing, as well as Hubbard creek, but pretty much all the beaches are spectacular. The food is great in Port Orford, especially Portside Cafe, which has hands down the best breakfast and bloody Mary’s I’ve ever had. The food at The Salty Dawg was also on point. If you love good food and beach hopping, this is a great location.

It’s a sweet little house, supposedly 90-some years old. It was very clean. The furnishings are mostly older, but not junky. The kitchen was well-furnished with implements. There were lots of books, games, and movies. There are two TVs, one in the living area and one in the downstairs bedroom in front of a couch. The Wi-Fi strength was excellent. The mattress on the bed in the downstairs bedroom was comfortably firm. There were plenty of extra blankets. The shower in the downstairs bathroom emits a strong flow of instantly hot water. There was a generous supply of towels. There is a loft-type bedroom upstairs with a full bath; we did not use these. The stairs to the loft are narrow and steep and might be a challenge for younger children and people with mobility limitations (there is a railing). The most charming aspect of the property is a small area behind the house that is up a short stairway. It is a lovely little bower enclosed by trees and ferns, with two deck chairs and a picnic table. The house is just a block from US 101, but we did not notice a lot of traffic noise. That might be different on a sunny Sunday in July. The nearest beach is a small harbor-like stretch a 10-15 minute walk away. A few minor quibbles: There was no channel guide or set of instructions for the TVs, and we had trouble negotiating between streaming and network channels (there is a full complement of streaming services). The coffee maker was a dinky little Motel 6-like affair with a basket, and no coffee was provided; there’s a coffee drive-through a quarter mile away. Finally, the 10:00 checkout time was a bit ungenerous. On balance, we were very happy with our stay and would go there again.

The house was a delight to stay in. We loved the quiet of the neighborhood, very short walk to the beaches and many options for dining out or picking up to-go. My partner gently hugged the vintage stove when we walked in! He was in disbelief of the design and functionality. We read over all instructions for use and he thoroughly enjoyed cooking us breakfast on it.This house could be ideal for two couples or just two as we did. I did notice that the house requested shoes off, but I found the floors pretty gritty upon arrival.This house is not luxurious, it’s more practical and full of vintage charm and that won us over. We hope to stay again and I have told many friends about it.

The inside and back yard were great, only wish the backyard was fully fenced so my dog couldn't escape. The retro features inside were super cute. I play the fiddle so I noticed and loved the fun fiddle decor. The place was clean and furniture comfortable. I appreciated the books about local hikes, flora and fauna. The location to town, Redfish Restaurant and Battle Rock Beach were stellar.

Cute house. Comfortable with plenty of amenities. The clawfoot tub is wonderful and the vintage stove was fun and worked very well. Great location close to the beaches and down town. Listed as dog friendly but the backyard is not completely fenced, both to the street and neighbors. There is a small trail to the house above that made us wonder if they came on the property. It made the backyard less inviting which is a shame as it is quite nice.

such a bummer because if the house was maintained and clean, it would have been 5 stars. they got all our money, but we did not get what we paid for. it was pretty gross. arrived to a low battery in a smoke detector that was precariously located above the stairs and had to deal with a loud beep every minute for 3 hours before someone arrived to take care of it. also, not only not enhanced clean, but not clean. upstairs hadn't been swept or vacuumed at all; the floor was covered with hair, dirt, sand, and other detritus. so clearly upstairs wasn't washed/mopped either. downstairs floors had not been washed/mopped and were super filthy. i wiped down counter tops and such and in many places my wipes were visibly soiled couch had dog hair on it and should have been vacuumed. in the backyard, the butterfly bush had a huge branch that had come down and was blocking the steps that accessed the sitting areas back there. the dishes including utensils and cookware were dirty and greasy. though it visually looked clean, the upstairs tub had soap scum which you could easily feel with your hands. upstairs toilet chain was pretty rusty and came detached so had to fix that myself. there were other unfortunate details, but you get the gist.

I loved this house. The common spaces were welcoming and clean design. It would be good for 2 people or couples as there was space between the bedrooms. I especially appreciated the house book of area information , the library, and the kitchen table area. The space was quiet but easy walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Vacasa checked in the first day to make sure everything was good.

The cottage is adorable, backyard space was nice, great dog friendly rental. The beds were comfortable. Unfortunately the beds had sand in them and the claw foot tub was extremely dirty. However, Vacasa was very apologetic and eager to fix things and make it right. I will try renting it again as we stay in Port Orford frequently. Hopefully it was just a one time thing…

A 5 min. walk to a small beach and 2 min. drive to a much larger one. We could hear the ocean at night, and could walk to most restaurants. The bungalow has spacious bedrooms for the size of the home, 2 bathrooms, and a fun vintage vibe throughout. Netflix & Hulu on TV, and books, puzzles, and video's if you are having a very wet visit. The beds were comfy, and the place was so very clean! We loved visiting here and would come back!

This was a short notice booking as we found ourselves caught in a major winter storm on the coast. The cottage is adorable. Well thought out and appointed with many whimsical vintage touches while still being modern and comfortable. The claw foot bathtub and the entire upstairs bathroom was a gem. The property was wonderful. Very clean and had plenty of fresh towels. There were very small shampoo and conditioners but I would suggest bringing your own, especially if staying for more than one day/night. We stayed here during the off-season and while Port Orford is very beautiful, it is VERY small and the dining options are very limited and left something to be desired. Also, the specific “parking on street only” requirement struck me as a bit strange since there is one spot in front of the garage, off the street. Other than that, no complaints.

Spent a long weekend at the coast with a dear friend. The cottage was so cute and very comfortable. It has a great layout so everyone had their individual zones when needed. The beds are very comfortable and both bedrooms have access to their own shower/toilet. There is a tub upstairs which offered me a much needed warm soak after all the hiking we did. I will definitely be returning to sweet home.

Port Orford was the perfect place to explore the southern coast - we spent one day looking at redwoods in California, another day looking at beaches along the Oregon Coast (Meyers Creek and Port Orford were our favorites), and one day staying inside doing a crossword puzzle due to rain. A perfect vacation! The house was great for two friends - we each had our own bed & bathroom- but the stairs to reach the upstairs room are steep & narrow, and I wouldn’t want to navigate them with a big suitcase. It’s furnished in 60’s vintage meets Scandinavian modern - it was nice that the owner explained some of the house’s history (love the wallpaper!). And I’m sure I’ll never get to use an oven/stove like that again, so that was fun.

Love the location, set up of the house, unique furnishings and all the books and games. The only drawback is that the cleaners seem to count on the guests before you to clean the dishes and silverware well and we found lots of crusted food on forks and in bowls on our most recent stay. False advertising

Vacasa is a sham. Don’t book with them.

My partner and I wanted to take a socially distant trip to the beach and saw this cute house available - a little on the pricy side, but wanted to splurge. Vacasa sent an email about this “premium clean” policy in effect for covid, saying that all surfaces would be extra clean, etc. The house had clearly not been cleaned when we arrived. The floor was covered in dirt and hair, you could see oily footprints on the ground, dishes were oily and sticky, the furniture was covered in hair (dog? Human? Who knows). There wasn’t a vacuum. Half the burners on the stove didn’t work. The paper towel rack ripped right out of the wall in first use. The wine opener bent out of shape and snapped in half when we tried to use it. There was no salt or pepper in the house. It was just awful and a total waste of money, and I have never heard from Vacasa support about any of this.

Never using them again, and neither should you.

Loved it! A great little place with just enough room for all 5 of us. Very comfortable and super clean when we arrived. Had a problem with the key code, but I called Vacasa on a late Sunday evening and got a different code right away. They were very helpful.
