About this house rental
OTTER COVE is a 3 bedroom 1 bath lake front home with end of the road privacy. Knotty pine walls, wood floors, view windows all along the lake side. OTTER COVE sits 20 feet from the lake with trout fishing (stocked lake)with the lake on two sides. Port Orford is a small town of about 1500 and is the oldest town site on the southern Oregon Coast and is the the most westerly town in the lower 48 states. The ocean is about 1500 feet to the west and is easy access by car.
OTTER COVE sleeps 8 and has a queen in the large master bedroom, 2 fulls or doubles in the 2nd bedroom and 2 twin TRUNDLE in the 3rd bedroom. Cable TV, WIFI, PELLET stove for heat, Gas BBQ. Newly remodeled kitchen and dining room and new laundry room summer of 2021. New living room carpeting spring 2021. Remodeling in progress.
A normal day is to have some deer drop over to eat on the lawn, otters playing in the lake or on the dock or grass, ducks, geese, loons and some turtles a few Ospreys getting their lunch and even a bald eagle or two. You might see the foxes walk by or the local Bobcat. The crows will entertain you and steal anything they can outside. No close neighbors and a great view of our small arm of the lake and great fishing for trout and pike. OTTER COVE is not fancy but loved for it's cozy charm.

Clean and had anything you could possibly want for a short stay. It’s secluded and private without being far from town. It was quiet and serene and the perfect spot to unwind after being out all day. Highly recommend

Otter Cove is a special spot. It was just the peaceful place that we needed for our 6 day stay. We enjoyed sunny afternoons reading by the lake with the sound of the birds the only thing we could hear. The rooms, with the exception of the bathroom, are extremely large and the beds were pretty comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked and fairly recently updated so things worked well. It's an easy walk to the ocean and the beach. It's a beautiful beach and not highly used except by vehicles (!!) which are allowed to drive on it. I only saw 2 Jeeps in the 6 days we were there.The only issue we had was with the bathroom. There is only one bathroom as stated in the description. However, there is no picture of the toilet, which must be part of the original build. It is very low in this age of taller toilets, and there is no real way except by grabbing on to the sink, which seems very high when you're down that low, to help yourself up. If you are young, this will most likely not be a problem. We are not young. It was not fun, especially since one of us is mobility challenged. If we do not book again it will be because of the bathroom. Also there was one chair in the living room that tipped from side to side as well as front to back. I am prone to sea-sickness, and ended up spending most of a day with acute severe vertigo from sitting in that chair and not realizing what was happening. I would recommend retiring it.A senior couple with a small dog.

This home is private, quiet, and perfect for a quick family trip. The Pros, the lake is the star of the show here, the views are spectacular, the weather is beautiful in June and the rooms are good sized. Now the cons, The home defiantly needs a good cleaning, we ended up sweeping the bedrooms since the dust and dirt was sticking to our feet. The exterior of the home needs some love/ maintenance, there was dust and cobwebs in the rooms/ on the exterior of the home. Overall would recommend just wish it was cleaner.
