Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech

Beautiful spacious and clean rooms, most comfortable bed ever! Lovely restaurants, fantastic warm pools, beautiful breakfast setting.

We were at the hotel during a terrible storm and unfortunately the main pool was closed for two days but this wasn’t the fault of the hotel.

Fabulous main pool and other smaller pools. Wnderful breakfast with loads of variety on offer Huge comfortable room. Excellent golf course a short walk away or buggies readily available for those who needed them. Excellent tennis and padel courts

Pool water was a little too warm given the outside temperature Services at all meals was enthusiastic if a little haphazard - you get used to it after a while! Charging extra for tennis and padel was somewhat unreasonable given the high cost of the stay Restaurant evening meals could have more variety and there was little on offer for vegetarians or those with special dietary needs. Golf demands a local caddie, some of which are better (and more enthusiastic) than others.

Staff were great, I was greeted by my name by several members of the staff at a number of occasions. I was able to communicate with the concierge (Moulay) via Whatsapp and I suspect he even managed my requests on his day off. People in the golf shop are great. Facilities were top but I would have expected that for the price we paid.

Transport arrangements via hotel are overly expensive. Better to negotiate with a yellow taxi (half the price) or even better Uber (1/3 of the price). I was told Uber is illegal but service was great (Mercedes vans etc).

Layout and style

Building works by the pool all day . The atrium windows were being replaced, which resulted in grinding, sawing and hammering , the sweep ming up of broken glass. So not as restful as I had hoped When I ask why there were buildings works going on I was told it was just window replacement . I work in construction as an inspector so ideally wanted to ge t away from construction for a few days. Also golf course was closed for repair …
