A charming old school house, beautifully restored and nestled in a peaceful valley. It is quiet, remote and surrounded by nature. The river nearby is a wonderful place to swim in and canoe down.

The location is in a beautiful valley with a river and was ideal for a quiet few days, recharging the batteries and digging up ideas, burying a few ghosts and enjoying cooking a few experimental meals. Loved the Old School House for its history, thoughtfully stocked bookshelf (obviously assembled by a well-read and educated mind); the original creaky floors; comfortable sofas; and quite magnificent photographic prints by a local photographer. The owners are interesting people, a delightfully independent-minded family as far as I could tell from my limited interaction with them.
Well, being picky, no scissors in the kitchen. But hey, there never are, I suppose guests take them home. So I brought my own as I have learned from experience. And thus enjoyed the very well appointed kitchen for my cooking
