Boutique Hotel Las Cascadas

The location is pretty great considering how close it was to the farmers market, and not too far drive from the Manuel Antonio National Park (about 45 minutes?). However, we were pretty disappointed with the lack of communication from the staff member. There was an option to have breakfast in bed, as long as you send them a message on whatsapp to request. The first morning, we sent the request message around 9am (breakfast ended at 9:30). We were waiting until around 10:30, still no response of confirmation or whatever, so my husband went down to the reception area to check in with the staff, and apparently they didn't see our message. We were disappointed due to the missing time we lost, but oh well, mistakes happened. The next breakfast, almost the same thing. This time we sent the message before 6am, requesting the breakfast in bed to be sent around 8am, but again, no response until I had to call them via whatsapp around 8:15am to place the order. I requested no toast on my continental breakfast, which they also ignored. They still gave me the toasts, and they also ignored my request for having my egg boiled. They didn't say anything when I placed the order that apparently only the scrambled egg that was available. They also still gave me my toast. I just feel bad for wasting food. Also, be aware that there's no elevator to get up to the room (if you got the room that is up high the stairs). Luckily, we didn't have a lot of stuff with us, so it was pretty manageable to carry the suitcases up to our room ourselves. Room wise, it smelled kinda musty, and the flat bed sheet also had a damp smell. we dont mind small rooms, but there was barely any space to put our two carry on suitcases in the room. There was also no table in the room, so it was hard for us to do some work without a table. Overall, it was an okay stay. The staff definitely should check their whatsapp more often if that's the only way to communicate with their guests.
