Hope Land Hotel 46/1

Everything about this hotel was great. It is a budget hotel so you should manage your expectations however the rooms were kept really clean and refreshed every day. The staff, all of them, were simply wonderful. Breakfast was excellent considering the cost of the property. The pool looks great, but was just finishing a refurb so didnt have the chance to have a swim. Location is perfect if you need to be on this side of the city. Plenty of pubs and restaurants around, short walk to the skytrain which opens up the rest of the city well. If you are here to see the Palace and the river area then this is not the right location. I cannot say enough about this property, at the price point you would struggle to find better, just manage your expectations to be aligned with budget and you will love it. The pool was closed for a refurb which is no one's fault and it looks great, but I would have loved to have had a swim! Otherwise everything about the hotel was great. My Thai wife had room service one evening and said the food was excellent.

There are three Hope Land hotels in Bangkok, but this one (46/1) is definitely the best. And there is probably no better breakfast variety in Bangkok. At least for the relatively reasonable price.

The cleaning ladies going from room to room in the morning to clean get constant loud signals on their phones, they are talking loud on their phones and the echo in the long hallways can wake you up in your room, if you want to sleep longer than other guests ...

We had the biggest room in the hotel, so plenty of space. Big bathroom and staff were very nice

Pool was TINY and only deep as a very small part. Due to positioning of the pool, there is no sun after noon. There are only 6 sunbeds in the whole hotel. In the pool there was a loose light and broken tile debris due to same. Breakfast was not good, only made worse as items which have all been taken are not replaced, so you would have not much on your plate for starting your day. Asian guests had big plastic containers with them which they filled to the brim daily plus they would also raid all the fruits. This meant that MOST of the food had gone in their containers BEFORE people going for breakfast after 9.15-9.30, who used to come in looking puzzled at lots of empty plates and dishes. Food was mainly for the Asian sector too, dim sum, curries, fish and items that we were unsure what they were? Not geared towards their British guests if which there were quite a few. Needs renovating SOON and a name change to HOPELESS .....
