About this house rental
Brookside Retreat is ideally located on a quiet side street overlooking Tannery Brook, a year-round stream that flows through the center of Woodstock and right past the house!
This historic artist’s bungalow features an extensive bluestone patio (with a built-in outdoor wood-burning fireplace and stone table with benches), a covered deck, and walkways that overlook the stream ~ as well as a spacious landscaped and fenced-in lawn.
Three bedrooms accommodate up to 6 people (see details below). In addition, there's a fully-equipped country kitchen; a dining area (seats 6); and a spacious living room with a cathedral ceiling, ceiling fan, skylights, 2-story north light windows, a gas-fueled fireplace with an exposed stone chimney ~ and a piano!
In addition, there's a separate studio-office building with a desk, lounge area, and wall of sliding glass doors that overlook the patio.
Brookside Retreat is the perfect place for a romantic getaway, family vacation, or personal retreat!
BEDROOMS
There are 3 bedrooms, all with AC:
1) a first-floor master bedroom with a king-size bed, sliding glass doors that open onto a private deck, and an en suite bathroom with a shower;
2) a second-floor bedroom with a queen-size bed, cathedral ceiling, oversized windows, and a shared bathroom with a tub/shower;
3) a second-floor children's bedroom with a crib, changing table, toddler/twin bed, fold-out full-size futon couch, and blackout shades.
PETS
Well-behaved and crate-trained dogs are considered ~ please ask. Please note that a $100/week pet fee per dog applies. We ask that dogs are not left alone and unsupervised in the house, unless they are in their crates. Thank you!

Great stay. We enjoyed the lovely property, its location, the cleanliness. Second time renting and will definitely be back. Communication with host was timely and efficient. Fireplace was a nice touch. Walking distance to so much.

This place was top drawer - beautiful setting by the stream - just a couple minutes walk into town but you would never know it - it was so peaceful and quiet. Kitchen had everything you might possibly need, beds were comfortable, outdoor fireplace was great. Plenty of room to run around both inside and out. Our family has been to the Woodstock area many times over the last 20 years and we all agree this house ranks right at the top.

We enjoyed our stay at the Brookside retreat! The grounds were so beautiful, especially after the rain, with the sound of the creek very soothing and peaceful. Highly recommend eating at Nirvana for excellent Indian fair. The Hardwoods played at Pearl Moon and we thoroughly enjoyed listening to them. Everything was very neat and the beds were so comfortable. We especially were thankful for the raincoats and umbrella that were provided since we did not pack our own. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This house is located in a prime area of Woodstock and had the perfect balance of convenience of shops/restaurants so close by and serene and peaceful setting with the sound of the brook. It was a great home base for hiking and visiting other areas like Saugerties and Kingston. The house is immaculate and provided towels and bed linens (rare find!). We had all the kitchen items that we needed to cook a few meals at home - Sunflower Market and Woodstock Meats is a 5 minute walk. We were very impressed and will definitely be back!
