Quaint Woodstock Escape - 2 Mi to Tinker St!

After being disillusioned with the prices of Airbnbs and hotels in downtown Woodstock and nearly resigning myself to an overpriced stay, I decided to check booking for other options - and I'm so glad I did!! I'm here to add my glowing review to the mix - I knew it was a risk to book a place that only had 1 review, but I had faith based on the photos and the details in the other review. This Quaint Woodstock Escape guest house was PERFECT for my weekend with friends. From the time of booking, I received a confirmation email with instructions, host contact information, directions, and house rules. Our host/ property manager Tonya was promptly responsive and kind. The check-in process was smooth and easy. The house is part of a grouping of other houses; while we saw other tenants outside we never had any issues sharing driveways or with noise. It was a quick 5-6 minute drive to Tinker St/ downtown Woodstock and it was really nice being in a less busy area of town. The house is furnished beautifully and tastefully - there was an Eames chair among other amazing furniture and decor pieces including an impressive book collection. The kitchen was extremely well-stocked with plates, cups, glasses, utensils, coffee & tea, and dry pantry goods including pastas and canned tomatoes. We stayed in late July and the house was comfortable with window A/C units. All bedrooms were beautiful with comfy cushy beds and bathrooms were immaculate. Downstairs bathroom was small but functional, upstairs had a large soaking tub. There were ample extra linens including towels, sheets, and pillows. We didn't make use of the fire pit since it was such a hot weekend, but I'm sure they would be lovely in cooler weather! I highly recommend staying at this or any of Tonya's other properties in Woodstock! It's a great way to avoid the upcharges at Airbnbs and other lodging. We are so grateful for such an incredible place to stay!

I have very minimal feedback for this stay. Just wanted to share - note that this property is a house in a grouping of other houses including conjoined ones, and is a little confusing to find especially at night with no street lights but some exterior lighting around the houses. When you turn onto Wendell Road, just go a LITTLE way down the road past #7 and look for the tree with the numbers 2 and 3 signs nailed to it. Bear LEFT towards the number 2 (not 2B). Don't make the same mistake we did in driving all the way down Wendell Road because you'll have to reverse a long way back or turn around! That being said, once we got the hang of the layout of the property after 2-3 trips we had no issues. We messaged Tonya separately about this as well, but thought it worth mentioning that the upstairs tub leaked a bit when draining (which I'm sure is an easy fix). We also wished the downstairs bedroom had a full-length mirror for getting ready - we ended up using the large mirrors in the living room for that.
