If you’re planning a trip with family or friends, this is the kind of home that makes it easy. The Oceanfront Modern Lodge sits just above the sand with seasonal ocean views and a layout specifically designed for groups to gather, relax, and spend time together.
Step outside and you’re at Manzanita Beach. The path to our sandy seven mile beach is just north of this wonderful property.
Inside, the home opens up into a bright, spacious main living area where everyone can be together without feeling crowded. Large windows frame the ocean, and the open layout between the kitchen, dining, and living spaces makes it easy to cook, share meals, and stay connected throughout the day.
The kitchen is set up for groups, with plenty of space and equipment to handle everything from casual breakfasts to full dinners. The dining area comfortably brings everyone together—something that’s surprisingly rare and incredibly valuable in a group stay.
The living room offers a comfortable place to unwind, with ocean views always in sight. After a day at the beach, it’s easy to gather here, light the fire, and settle into the rhythm of the coast.
Downstairs, the media and game area becomes a second hub of the house. With a pool table, ping pong, and space to spread out, it naturally separates kids and adults when needed—while still keeping everyone under one roof. This layout is one of the biggest reasons groups return to this home.

We like to keep things clear and easy—especially since VRBO doesn’t always make policies obvious.
RENTAL AGREEMENT
During booking, you’ll be shown our Rental Agreement outlining policies, house details, and expectations. Feel free to review and reach out with any questions BEFORE confirming your stay. You will be required to sign our Rental Agreement before your stay. By booking your stay, you will have agreed to the VRBO and Rental Agreement policies.
PETS
Dogs are welcome. Just include the number of pets when booking so we can get everything set up. A per-pet fee applies. If pets aren’t included at booking, we’ll follow up to add them.
CANCELLATION POLICIES
VRBO may show this property as “No Refund,” but that’s a platform limitation. Most stays include a full refund up to 90 days before arrival, but it is seasonal. Our busy summer season has the strictest cancellation policy. These policies are noted in our Rental Agreement, which you will be shown before booking. Please reach out anytime if you’d like details before booking.
OCCUPANCY
The Modern Manzanita Lodge accommodates up to 12 people 3 years and over, plus 2 children 2 years and younger. Three pets maximum. Four cars maximum. No RVs, Campers, Trailers, etc. allowed. This is mandated by the County.
SCHEDULING
Fridays and Saturdays are typically booked together unless arranged ahead of time.

Great location and fabulous house. Not much of an ocean view due to across the street bushes and trees too tall to see over, but a short walk to the beach to see the ocean. Enjoyed my nice quiet weekend away by myself!

Spacious home, nicely updated and equipped. Bring your own Bluetooth speaker if you want music. We all (5 adults) would definitely stay here again! Thanks, Kim.

This was a very well located property and it accommodated our group of 13 nicely. The following exceptions lessened the experience. The curb appeal was generally messy. Yard unkempt. Old furniture either rusted or broken was stored visibly under back deck and around sides of house. A LOT of old wood from maybe a roofing or siding project plus big bags of who knows what under deck. Hose was running onto driveway when we arrived. House was misrepresented as having a view. The bushes had grown to a height that obliterated any chance of a view as shown in web site pictures from living room. Only a peek a boo view from one corner of deck was attainable. The pillows on couch were pilled and appeared very worn and I daresay dingy. The two living room chairs were very uncomfortable. Perhaps the red upholstered chairs in master bedroom would have been more appropriate in the living room. However we were warned not to move furniture. We were charged a service fee for NOT bringing a dog when we asked for a refund of one dog deposit. Requiring 2 loads of laundry to be done before check out was unusual. The throw rugs all had curled corners and proved to be a tripping hazard as well as unsightly and worn.
