A unique B&B experience in a small castle in lovely surrounds.

The experience of staying in original rooms in the castle, updated with modern comforts, was quite unique... and fun. Xavier, the host, was wonderful. We had the 2-bed suite which was roomy for our 3-person family. Breakfast was cosy,

Very disappointing - avoid

Breakfast was OK, location good and nice pool.

This was the twelfth and last stay on our trip round Switzerland and France and was supposed to be the highlight. But my reaction was - shades of Fawlty Towers, run by amateurs. There were cups and glasses in the bedroom but no teas or coffee (on asking for some, there were no coffee sachets available). There were no towels for the pool until I asked for one. The bathroom had a bath with a shower attachment but no shower curtain so you either had to sit/kneel in the bath or spray water. The toilet was separate along the corridor and down some steps so light needed to be left on or torch used at night. No wifi reception in the bedroom. The wooden pool loungers were heavy to move and a couple at least had broken wheels so virtually immovable anyway. The day before arrival we receive an email "We remind you that we do not accept credit card payments, so please bring a French check or cash"! This although the booking.com page clearly shows all credit cards accepted. On arrival we ended up paying 300 euros in cash and the balance by card. Incompetent. So we cannot recommend staying here - too expensive for what it provides.

Beautiful chateau with a pool in a remote location, would recommend!

Beautiful and very clean chateau in a quiet location with a gorgeous pool and great breakfast. Very friendly and accommodating staff and near to Belleme which had good restaurants, a highlight of which was Paysages.

This is such a unique experience. We loved staying there and felt like royalty. The breakfast was beautiful too.

There are limited toilets for 5 sharing but as a family it did not matter at all. It was spotlessly clean though although there is possibly a problem with the flow of the waste - probably due to the age of the building. It did not cause us a problem.

Exceptional

It was definitively a great and special experience! The kids were so exciteded. The parc was wonderful to play and relax, The rooms wonderfully decorated. The right mix of old and new! AND for everyone: there is a new ensuite bathroom for the Master bedroom;-). The breakfast was also very good!!! Thank you very much!

What a spectacular place - can only recommend everyone to spend at least a night there

The staff was incredibly friendly and warm-hearted and also gave us a tour of the Chateau. The breakfast was made freshly and had a lot of French baked goods of great quality. Our "room" consisted of one grand bedroom, one small living room, a really beautiful bath and a toilet. The bed was really comfortable. Overall, the rooms were all meticulously clean and hospitable. Great stay!

A must stop on your journey. Who doesn’t want to feel like a Lord or Lady in France in an historic Château.

The history. Built in the early 1400’s, it was incredible to hear the history of the Château and who had stayed there in the time of the Marquis who built it. Anna looked after us so well. It was very quiet and peaceful there too. We felt special and appreciated the experience. The town of Bélleme is only a few minutes drive away with great restaurants and is worth a walk around. Absolutely magnificent. Loved it!

Location is good breakfast good. needs to offer soap in bathrooms and bottled water in room. A fan for hot weather would be welcome. An interior designer to help with refurbishing of rooms.

French description of luxury certainly not the same as English! Vastly overpriced.

Bed ok. Breakfast ok although only crossiants etc.

Toiletries very poor, only 2 small cheap sachets of shampoo. Supermarket soap in toilet. Towels very thin. Guaranteed a quiet night, not so. Adjacent guests bathroom next door through VERY thin walls. Could hear their conversations as well as their ablutions! Dangerous electrics by entrance to room as roof was leaking and water running down the walls onto fuse box.

L'établissement offre un cadre très agréable, et le personnel est particulièrement attentionné. La literie est d'excellente qualité. Le petit-déjeuner était parfait. Nous vous remercions pour les légumes du jardin, qui sont très appréciables.

L'impossibilité de verrouiller la porte de la chambre en notre absence ou pendant notre sommeil constitue une lacune sécuritaire. De plus, le mobilier intérieur présente un défaut d'entretien, notamment une fuite de plomberie. L'ajout d'une petite boutique de souvenirs et de produits locaux, tels que du cidre normand et du jus de pommes, accessible avant les heures de départ, serait un atout appréciable.

Peut être faudrait il ajouter une machine à café et une bouilloure dans les chambres J'aime les petits déjeuners simples (pain, beurre, confiture, etc) mais cela implique des produits de super qualité (pain frais, beurre local, etc)
