The spacious bathroom with the extended balcony. It was strange that the bathroom opened up to the balcony, but it was different, and I liked it. The bed was comfortable; the lovely espresso coffee machine with Lisboa Nespresso pods was a lovely touch. I also enjoyed the comfortable bed and the room service every day. The hotel manager was a lovely young man who helped me on WhatsApp with clear, precise instructions for my self-check-in because we arrived late. The communication on WhatsApp was exceptional. I also loved the building itself, the staircase and the communal space with balcony overlooking a lush garden space!

We were already informed that the plumbing system was a bit unique and therefore you would hear periodic sounds of the plumbing. That, however, did NOT bother us one bit during the night... Understand that some guests were abusing the toilet by chucking unwanted items down it; this is, however, a necessary solution if you choose to stay in an older building.

We had a lovely stay in the accommodation. The staff were very friendly, the bed was comfy and spacious enough for my tall partner. We really liked having a balcony in the room. The bathroom was nice and the shower was spacious. There was a nice shared common area with a kitchen and living area that we could use. Accommodation is a little far from the centre but it is lovely and quiet. Overall we enjoyed the stay.

I do wish there had been a safe in the room and I also couldn't see a fire alarm on the ceiling but maybe I just missed it. The sink in our bathroom was also a little damaged but only aesthetically.

Very comfortable room, very generous size. Small external shared kitchen space which had some snacks and sitting area. Coffee machine and free water in the room. Very easy to communicate with hosts via WhatsApp.

While easy to talk to hosts on WhatsApp, rarely anyone at reception (even during stated opening times). Bathroom quite tired (Ill closing shower door, lots of peeling paint) but functioned fine.

The property is actually clean, which we were very pleased with. The staff are pretty friendly and accommodating where possible. They play good ambient music in the dining area and the property catches the sun nicely. We had a garden room and they left filtered water, coffee, and linen. We would definitely book again.

We already knew about the noise of the pipes every time the water turns on - you kind of get used to it to be honest but it isn't the nicest of sounds. The handle to the bathroom is falling off, which we saw someone else mention in a review so I would urge the hotel to fix it asap because it's not long before someone gets stuck in there. The Aircon is also pretty low even on the highest setting. I would encourage the staff to make the hot water and coffee first before kindly tending to the food for breakfast - on the first day it was a little late so we came to breakfast a little later for the rest of the days to make sure it was ready when we arrived. We noticed that while preparing breakfast, one of the staff members kept the fridge open for 5-10minutes at a time, since I work in food I was a little nervous about this as it's a hot country and temperate changes in a fridge can cause issues with food quite quickly. Also, another review mentioned the food wasn't fresh - we can confirm when we arrived it was fresh but the same food is put out the following days, which we gathered was probably so to not waste it or spend loads on fresh food daily. We didn't mind that so much but it did mean by the third day the bread and pastries were a little hard. Unfortunately, a couple came on our last day and at breakfast the wife decided to touch all of the pastries while deciding which one she wanted, which was quite off putting. The husband even broke a piece of the pastry with his bare hands and put it back - not the fault of the hotel but we didn't like that so glad we had chosen an early breakfast slot.
