Somersall Park Studio

Jill (the host) is really lovely and very helpful. I was only there for 2 nights but she made sure that I was happy with everything. The stay came with continental breakfast. I was spoilt for choice with fresh croissants, pain au chocolat, Belgian buns and granola. And if that wasn't 'un oeuff', there were fresh eggs. Plus, teas, coffees and hot chocolate. Great! It's a perfect space for a solo traveler or a couple. A nice sleeping/living area with a kitchenette. Even had a chiller to help cope with the heatwave . The accommodation is in an upstairs studio right next to the owner's home. There's a really nice outdoor space for use by guests and the overall garden area is beautiful. The property is set in a tree lined cul-de-sac with virtually no traffic. It's readily accessible to everywhere else in Chesterfield.

It was a bit fiddly to get the TV working but I got there in the end. Watched England's 3rd game in the World Cup!

You will approach along a lovely avenue of lime trees before arriving at Jill and Terry's home where the studio is situated. Passing through their large garden you will admire the variety of flowers and trees which makes you feel good even before you enter the studio which is very private and quietly situated. The furnishings, equipment and general ambience has been tastefully thought through so that as guests you will feel very comfortable and importantly knowing the owners are available on site to help if needed. All information is correct on booking.com and we can also say the area is safe, friendly and convenient for bus transportation and/or car parking. The nearby park is lovely for walks. We even saw kingfishers and plenty of wild flowers. Very interesting for nature lovers and relaxation. By the way, you can easily get to Morrisons supermarket just a few minutes after coming out of the parkland. We caught a bus to Chesterfield town and visited the crooked spire cathedral, where on that particular day, we unexpectedly enjoyed a choral concert and on another day an art exhibition. A most memorable stay.

We cannot think of anything we did not like.

Jill was an excellent host and the location of the accomodation was ideal. It was on the outskirts of chesterfield so quiet but close enough to get local transport into the town centre and not feel isolated. The local park nearby is lovely and the locals are very friendly.
