I've been here a few times and it is so nice to stay in a home rather than just a room with a kettle. The kitchen here is fully equipped with everything you might reasonably need. Comfy bed, lovely and warm on a very cold night.
All good

Owner recently added a lockbox for the keys. It had only been installed for a week so the code may not have been set correctly. Phoned the owner for help and he was there ASAP to sort the issue.
It was a little cold and the mattress is very soft.

Met the owner as we got there early. Had a great chat. He wasn't quite ready for us to move in, so we went to our friends for coffee.
The house is lovely. Beautiful kitchen with all facilities and a table and chairs. The cutest little lounge I've ever seen, very cottagey. The one double bedroom, one single bedroom with a spare pull out zbed and were of a fair size and a nice large bathroom. The bathroom could do with a shower screen and a bathmat.
The only problem we faced was the stairs. Very steep. If you're young or young at heart you'll be ok. We're both retired with mobility issues, so the stairs were a bit of a challenge 🥴
Thres a lovely garden with grass and flower boarders. Very nice 😄x
The stairs, as very steep.

The location was ideal for a short walk into town.
I realise space in the living room may be an issue but a more comfy sofa and chair would be better than the Chesterfield style ones that are there.

Not easy to find if you don't know the area, it was a but confusing having two number 15 in the same street almost opposite each other. Google maps didn't help as they showed the wrong property.
Property was clean but cosy
Small twin room, no storage for anything as the room was only just big enough for two beds. Very steep stairs, would not be suitable for disabled person.

The price was fairly good for 5 nights, the front garden was tidy and well kept, the fridge was very good in terms of size and able to easily make ice since weather was really hot, the host was friendly and seemed like a genuinely nice guy, the double bed was VERY comfortable, made us want to replace ours at home and the towels were really good as they were really nice quality and 6 of them were provided.
we had good communication from the host, he called us and gave us the lockbox code as the code on the website was wrong, he also brought us some toilet rolls on the first evening as there was none at the property and this was without us asking for them despite him having an injury so that was much appreciated.
There were quite a list of things we did not like so much, considering the price we did not expect to be staying in a palace, the host did inform us in a call before we arrived saying that due to an injury he wasn't able to get the property cleaned in time so his sister arrived not long after we did to do some cleaning, I said that doesn't matter to much but not realising how dirty the house was.
as soon as we entered the property there was this weird old smell, straight away we could tell the house wasn't very clean, we left assuming it would be cleaned by the time we came back, we returned and the smell remained, there was a layer of dust on nearly every surface, under the kitchen appliances were visibly dirty like they haven't been cleaned in months/years, we found cups with lipstick marks on them, pots and pans with old oil stuck to them, spiders and cobwebs everywhere and nearly everything we touched/used felt sticky or dirty or had a small to it.
the property was weird like the kitchen was kitted out well and modern but the oven did not work, the living room was very old fashioned and the seating was honestly awful in our opinions, tv was in a strange place we did not use it.
bedrooms - double bedroom was not too bad, the light switch being behind the door made it difficult at night to turn the light on and found some old spots of blood on bed sheets but apart from that the double room wasn't bad, however the other bedroom was terrible, one single bed and what seemed to be some sort of camping bed and nearly no room in there.
bathroom - shower was really bad seemed really old even the plastic was yellowing.
rear garden was like a jungle going straight onto a public path.
parking was awful, every night we struggled to park and even had to move the car at one point for a neighbour.

The house is beautifully kitted out with everything you could possibly need for an overnight stop or a longer stay. Cooking facilities and washing machine.
Location is walking distance of Queen's Park & Chesterfield town centre.
Host is welcoming and works hard to make this a lovely place to stay.
No complaints - my second visit and enjoyed the stopover as much as last time.

The property was clean and had a well equipped kitchen. A good location.
The hedge needed to be trimmed to be able to walk down the path and the gate was hanging on one hinge which made it difficult to open. Need a curtain at the bathroom window, plus a shower curtain. Could do with a little modernisation in a couple of the rooms. Parking was very difficult.

Iwas used to the area because a came not far from where i grew up in clay cross so it was lovely to walk round the park although a lot had changed in it and the centre of town had changed so much we all had a great couple of days and hope to book again in the near future
Nothing except please put a rubber mat in the bathroom to use when taking a shower as bath gets slippy and i was a bit afraid of falling as i don't stand very well

The location was excellent and the host was extremely responsive. The bathroom was recently remodeled and the place was charming. Fast wifi and it had everything we really needed for the portion of our trip in Chesterfield. It was a great deal and we paid less than $100 USD per night, which is a bargin!
The shower was mentioned in a previous review. Unlike many of the apartment type rentals we've stayed at in England, this had a full tub instead of a tiny shower stall. What made bathing a bit tricky was the lack of shower curtain or any kind of barrier to prevent water from getting everywhere. The shower head does detach from the wall.
This place also lacked a few minor things that we have become accustomed to having in rentals like this (i.e., bath rug, towel rack, a fresh dish sponge, paper towels). I felt for the price, these were all very minor inconveniences. There was a Lidel within walking distance and we picked up a few items that we wanted for the remainder of our trip.
