Walltree House

The house is gorgeous and so was my room. Was super clean and comfortable with a huge bed and beautiful full size standalone mirror. Honestly so grand. The grounds around are expansive too so I was able to get some steps in in the evening (I was alone, on a business trip) - I even saw some bunnies playing in the grass and almost walked out onto the airfield. They also have an honesty bar which I thought was cool. There was also fresh milk for the rooms!

The self check in felt a bit like an escape room - starting with a really long What’s app message explaining how to gain access to the key for the front door, and then another explanation on an A4 page on how to check in and find your room. And then the numbers to text for help in the welcome book were wrong, so no one replied to me until later in the night. It was all just very impersonal. I guess some people like that but I found it quite annoying. I also think I was the only person staying there and I found it a little creepy, especially when you text for help and no one replies. Luckily it wasn’t anything important. It would be lovely if you are a couple anting to get away for some private time. You don’t have to mix with anyone!

It was in a beautiful, open landscape. The kids loved it.

Nothing - we had the place to ourselves as well which made it even better.

I booked this accommodation for my director, he was the only person at the property so had the whole house to himself. I have not given a top score for staff as this was a self check in, however, the host was friendly and communicative online. The house is in quite a rural area, very peaceful, comfortable and clean. I would recommend and will book again when any of my colleagues are staying in the area.

It was next to the airfield we’re we needed to be on the day

1.Arrival and departure times not good( 4pm arrive 10am depart)should at least be 2 or 3 pm arrive ) 2.No air con or fridge in room ( but help self to cold milk in a fridge downstairs) 3.Tv to small for room , Wi-Fi tv not normal Chanel’s 4.Wood floor with big holes need repair near main door 5.Steps immediately outside shower 6.No room names or numbers on doors 7.Nice guest of the biggest spider in middle of bathroom floor , huge gap on the floor behind sink obviously his home ,needs blocking up . 8.The approach to the house is about a 1 mile single lane track with vehicles with horse boxes in both directions with little room to pull aside for oncoming traffic , can get interesting. 9. No electric charge point for cars
