A great place to stay in a quiet leafy suburb with lovely helpful hosts & amazing Sri Lankan meals. Very comfortable room . Be mindful that you are about 5 km from centre of Kandy so need to take tuk tuk to local bus if you haven't your own transport

A great homestay. Lovely owners who are always smiling and helpful. The building is spacious and the rooms with attached bathrooms were well presented, very clean and large. Breakfast and evening meals were delicious. Nice balcony with views of the mountains. Cute cats. Peaceful and calm location away from the bustle of Kandy. Short tuk tuk ride to the lake and entrance to temple and palace.

a hidden gem. The family is very friendly and accommodating, true Sri Lankan hospitality. The place is very comfortable and spotless. I had my own transport, and it was very easy to reach. would definitely recommend, and I will be back for sure. For breakfast, you can choose between English and Sri Lankan, and I was very happy with my Sri Lankan option, Stringhoppers with Pol sambol, Parippu and fruits! Definitely value for money!!

Lalanga homestay is one of the loveliest homestays I have stayed at. The room is comfortable, the family are so sweet and attentive, and there are various extra touches to make the stay more comfortable - for example drinking water is provided, which is a big plus. Auntie is also the most incredible cook! I know that for us Western tourists, curry for breakfast can feel strange but I would highly recommend that you choose the Sri Lankan breakfast, it is DELICIOUS! Dinner is only 1,200 extra and is delicious, with huge portions. I felt like I was eating like a queen! The location was also great for me, I was very pleased to be outside the city centre as it meant the room was so quiet throughout the night. It would have been nice to have AC, as it was very hot to only have a fan, but it is totally understandable why AC would not be included given the price (and current increases in energy prices). Perhaps they could consider allowing guests to use the AC for a small surcharge, to cover energy costs whilst enabling comfort. I only had one day in Kandy and wanted to see all the sights in one day. They arranged for a TukTuk driver, Pradeep, to show me around Kandy for the day. The price was very reasonable and Pradeep was great - he really made the effort to give me the best tour of Kandy. All in all, this place is amazing value and you won’t regret staying here!
