Our first visit to Hvar, and Croatia as a whole, was made truly unforgettable by our wonderful 7-night stay at Castle Štambuk towards the end of September. My partner and I were enchanted by both the island and our accommodation.
From the moment we arrived, Vesna proved to be an exceptional host. Her warm welcome immediately put us at ease, and she went above and beyond, providing advice on local restaurants, tours, and hidden gems.
Castle Štambuk itself is a real treasure. While the online photos are lovely, they don't do justice to the charm of the property. Everything was clean and thoughtfully arranged, creating a very comfortable and inviting atmosphere. We found all the essential amenities we needed for a relaxing stay, and it was reassuring to know that we could ask Vesna if anything else was required. There are also several well-stocked supermarkets within easy walking distance for any additional provisions.
The location is ideal – just a pleasant 5-10 minute stroll from the main port where the ferry arrives. Do note there are some steps leading up to the property, which is typical for Hvar, but the slight incline is well worth it for the peaceful setting. We loved having multiple beautiful beaches and swimming spots close by. A tip for future guests: we'd highly recommend bringing or buying some water shoes, as the beaches are often pebbly. Vesna thoughtfully provided us with beach towels and mats, which was a fantastic bonus!
We couldn't have asked for a better base for our Hvar adventure. We highly recommend Castle Štambuk for anyone looking for a charming, comfortable, and perfectly located stay with an outstanding host. We're already dreaming of our return!

We had a beautiful stay. The location was great and the property had everything we needed. Large spacious rooms. The owners were lovely and they even went to the hassle of carrying our bags up and down the stairs for us.
