Nice cottage in the woods

We liked the quiet location and thought the property was going to be quite a nice stay for us.

We didn't like the fact that on our second day we got back to the cottage late afternoon and it was an icebox. We tried everything to get the heaters to work but nothing. We reached out to the property contact and after a few hours of back and forth communications (about 6:30-7pm) we were told that the heating and hot water couldn't be fixed and we'd have to find alternate accommodation. We felt quite abandoned by the owners and received zero assistance in finding an alternate and similar accommodation. The weather was atrocious and to find something that late in Stonehaven was really difficult. It turned out to be one of our worst days of our 3 month holiday. I would like to note that we were given a full refund for that second day.

Simple quiet comfortable

Shower had low pressure and ran cold. Nothing left for arrival. No coffee sachets or little milk pots unlike other places I’ve stayed.

A lovely cottage near a very picturesque location

The cottage is in a lovely quiet location with woods next to it, and around a mile and a half from Stonehaven. The beautiful Dunnottar Castle is about a 3 minute drive away, and lots of other attractions are not too far away. The cottage is spacious and has 2 toilets (a bonus when travelling with family!). The kitchen is well equipped, and the beds are comfortable. The whole place was very clean and tidy.

No major issues at all - we loved our stay there. The only thing I would say is that possibly the cottage may be nearly ready for a little touch up here and there - especially now that the weather is turning cooler. The fireplace was out of order (although the central heating works fine), and there was condensation on the insides of the windows on the cooler mornings.

Lovely family holiday .. we regularly visit Stonehaven as visit family and friends there . This was a home from home and suited us perfectly

We needed a base to see relatives over Christmas and new year and this was perfect, enjoyed the woods and house was well kitted out to let us cook and spend time as a family with 3 adult children. Especially grateful the heating worked well!

Stonehaven is a touch dark in winter , not much can be done about that though scenery is stunning if a little wet and cold.

It was our second time to stay in this cottage and hopefully not our last. It's very comfortable, cosy, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. A great place to stay for visiting the area but also for just relaxing "at home".

Amazing location near the castle and right by the woods. The house has a home from home feel and has everything needed for a family. The area is so peaceful and quiet. We had a lovely time for a short holiday away from the city.

Nice little cottage for a short break to discover the Aberdeenshire coast and only an hours drive from places like Balmoral. Clean and comfortable, I think 3 star is the correct rating. Good communication with owner before stay.

Couldn’t see any outdoor furniture, parking appears shared with neighbours and wasn’t clear who’s space were who’s.
