Very relaxing place to stay with a warm welcome and everything we needed for an enjoyable stay..

Really cosy and comfortable barn conversion in a beautiful location with everything we needed for a two night stay. Helpful info provided re directions, arrival and local walks, pubs etc and we had a lovely Sunday roast dinner at the nearby Mardale Community Pub. Great to be able to walk from the doorstep & Pooley Bridge is within easy reach over the hill with plenty of options for a coffee (& a lovely book shop which does nice coffee & cake!).

Fantastic, welcoming and cosy cottage in a beautiful location

Quiet, cosy and comfortable cottage on a farm with very nice welcoming hosts. Cottage had great facilities with quality finish. Really good shower and very comfortable beds (as someone who doesn't usually sleep well when staying away from home). Amazing views from the doorstep and walks nearby. Parking right outside the cottage.

No wardrobe or clothes rail but I usually bring hangers with me and there were hooks in bedroom to hang clothes so not a problem for me but just remember to pack a few!

Wonderful stay at Widewath barn.

Well equipped with everything we needed. Enjoyed reading some of the books in the dining room. The hosts were wonderful, and we loved meeting the dogs and sheep. Would definitely stay again.

Absolute gem of a place

We really enjoyed our stay. It’s a cosy and comfortable barn conversion with lots of charm and amazing views. My son loved meeting all the animals from the butterflies all over the garden to the friendly ponies. A very relaxing and fun family stay.

Great base for walking in the Far Eastern fells

Gorgeous apartment in a lovely part of the Lakes. Staff were exceptionally welcoming and couldn't have done more. Facilities were clean and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

Fun country adventures. Car needed as it is a little way out of any local town.

The cleanliness of the property was phenomenal. The hosts were incredibly friendly, welcoming and thoughtful. It was such a cute little farm and we enjoyed the sheep, rams and doggies 🐑 🐏 🐶

We had originally booked it for three of us thinking it looked like there were three different rooms (by the pictures). One of our friends couldn’t come so there were two of us in the end which was probably good as the beds are all in one room.

Start to finish just the best experience! The hosts are great and couldn’t be more accommodating! The barn is fabulous and has just enough space for everyone whilst still being cosy. Great location with views that are out of this world. Just enough out of the way to enjoy while still being local villages near by

Such a unique stay in an absolutely incredibly beautiful place! Our morning walks along their property greeted by friendly sheep were fantastic! Great location to explore the Lake District, and the nearby Lowther Castle. If we ever travel to Northern England again, I would definitely stay again here! Everything we needed provided!

We really enjoyed our stay here for the beautiful and peaceful surroundings.

We loved the location which was perfect for exploring the Lakes. Also, it was great to be able to walk out the front door of the barn into open countryside and walk for miles catching glimpses of Ullswater along the way. The barn itself was lovely; lots of character and very comfortable. We hope to return again soon!

Amazing staycation!

We absolutely loved our stay at widewath barn, Alice and George were so welcoming, the barn was very clean, and has everything you could possibly need. The location was perfect, we had days out at pooley bridge, Ullswater, aira force waterfall… we will definitely be back. The farm was so peaceful, we watched the sheep being sheered, we had a bbq in the farm field over looking the beautiful scenery… we couldn’t have wished for a better experience. They are a lovely family… We will definitely be back :)

It’s location and the proprietors. They were absolutely charming. The location is second to none, so convenient. A little haven or oasis. A really lovely stay.

It may be a little lacking in natural light in the middle of winter- but that is having to scrabble around for criticism. At this time of year, it was perfect.

Very enjoyable.

self catering. Alice was so friendly and helpful. Made us very welcome . Left us some lovely lemon drizzle biscuits. A very sweet wild flower arrangement in a lovely jug on dinning room table. two very cute dogs one sat on my lap the other one came one evening when the door was open and had a look round think she was checking us out. Loved all the little lambs.
