The George Hotel

very nice clean room, breakfast was decent.

Showers could be updated

The staff offered to carry our bags to the room which I thought was kind. The room exceeded my expectations. It was a decent size, very clean and in good decorative order. The towels were soft and plentiful and there was a large and efficient shower.

There were two aspects. There was no on site parking which I would have expected from a three star hotel. whilst I appreciate this couldn't be helped it could have been made clearer when booking. At breakfast we were served tea in cups, not in a pot which is the usual way to serve tea in this country. The waitress wiped down out table while we were sitting there leaving a strong chemical smell which I felt should have been done before breakfast. Also, it took a long time to get served breakfast after our order was taken.

Clean rooms. Good breakfast

Decor outside rooms dated and in need of revamp

The staff were brilliant. Really friendly and accommodating. I had low expectations of the breakfast after seeing the room but was pleasantly surprised. Really lovely even if the coffee machine broke halfway through service.

The room was tired and a little grubby. The noise from the pub went on well last 1am. The hairdryer was broken.
