I did not realise with collecting keys that €200 wud be taken out immediately from my bank account as a security, this was not made aware to me with booking.I want somebody from booking.com to ring me in relation to this please.I am told it can take up to 10 days for this to be credited back to my account, and I am very annoyed re this situation.

Brilliant! Definitely a trip to remember!

Everything - Very modern apartment, very spacious and very clean! The beds were also very comfortable. Definitely would stay again.

The smoke alarm set off due to the steam from the shower in the en suite - this was going off for around half an hour and we had to wait for someone to attend the property to turn it off. Though the team were very helpful and apologetic, this did upset the neighbours and was an inconvenience.

BASIC, TIRED, BROKEN, SLEEPLESS!

There was a nice deli supermarket just across the road, and a Tesco express five minutes walk away. The lift was close to the apartment and worked. The apartment was very clean. There was no noise disturbance.

I try very hard not to write bad reviews but have nothing good to say about this place. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere. We had to take a taxi from the airport VIA the agency office to pick up keys while our taxi waited for us. This was 65 euros, twice what it would have been if we could have gone straight to the apartment (we know this because we have stayed in this area before and the taxi driver said the same thing). When we arrived, the beds were a shock. I had emailed months before our arrival to check there would be three double bedrooms with three double beds as we were a family of 6 adults. In fact NONE of the bedrooms had double beds: the en-suite room had three very narrow 2' single beds suitable only for children. The second bedroom had two single beds pushed together, the third bedroom had a 3/4 double bed pushed against the radiator so unsuitable for a couple to use. You couldn't pull the bed away from the radiator or the door to the bedroom would not open or close. The bathrooms were clean but very plasticky/basic. The flat was for six people yet only had four dining chairs. Similarly we had just one sofa for six people so not easy to relax for everyone! A lot of the furniture was badly scratched. We all thought it looked like a well-worn student flat. The kitchen had plenty of glasses and crockery but nothing to cook/grill with except one pyrex dish. The last straw was that the dishwasher stopped working on the second day. I notified the agency by text, email and phone and still no-one came to sort it out.

Perfectly fine but not exceptional - depends what apartment you get!

It is probably pointless talking about the specific apartment we got cause I am sure this outfit have plenty and it is really luck whichever you get put in. It was a perfectly fine apartment to stay in over the long weekend. No frills. The bed was comfortable, bedding clean. One bathroom and an extra toilet - clean. Kitchen stocked with cutlery and crockery etc. Kitchen also had supply of tea/coffee. Location was good.

The apartment we got was one that features on NONE of the photos. Awkward shape e.g. small living area downstairs, then up spiral staircase to bedroom which was large. Furniture all very worn and used - could use a refresh. Furniture and furnishings/décor very substandard compared to what you see on the photos. Collecting keys which was at least a 30min walk from actual apartment - thankfully we got a taxi to apartment - imagine not what you want late at night.

Pleasant, quiet, well-equipped property with an annoying check-in location.

Property has everything needed for a mid- to long-term stay, including a full kitchen, a dishwasher and a washing machine. It is quiet. The main room’s bed is comfortable enough. There is plenty of storage and room to put bags when packing and unpacking. The windows are operable. There is a balcony, although you’d need to carry dining area chairs to it to use it. The towel-warmer was a welcome touch each morning. Overall, the property is pleasant and well-equipped.

Check-in was a right royal pain in the … neck because the office is 15 to 20 minutes by taxi away from the property itself. Don’t be in a hurry when checking in. The staff were professional, gracious, and helpful, but I did not expect two taxi rides to get from Heuston Station to the apartment. The sectional sofa is not comfortable. I found no desk. Correct operation of the climate control system is not straightforward. Two appliances had been updated, but the instructions were not. One of them sounded like it was somehow “on”. If there was a UK-style power socket in the bathroom, I didn’t find it.

Super comfortable, close to transport and attractions, great communication from staff!

Comfortable, clean, warm and spacious. Good location, close to buses and trains, but also easy walking distance to city center. Airport bus, trains and 3Arena all 10 min walk away! Great find, made our stay that much better!

One super minor thing that took getting used to was the noice from the gas boiler - it would make a 2-seconds noice once in a while, but totally worth it as the apartment was warm and always endless hot water in the shower!

Avoid at all cost

Staff upon check in were very friendly and helpful. We liked the balcony. We liked that we had our own heating controls for central heating & water heating.

The apartment we got was extremely disappointing in many ways. From the weird smell, to the dirty pillows, to the dirty cutlery, the loose toilet, a shower with mould and a faulty shower head, and a lot of scuffed up/broken/dirty furniture... It's also in a pretty dodgy area, which we didn't realize until we arrived. Lots of drug deals going on on the street just around the corner. The apartment gave the vibe of "I'm staying at a friend's place for free" with the way that things were so run down and not taken care of. It was really disappointing as I had booked the apartment as a surprise for my friends 30th birthday. When I took my concerns to the manager, they replied back stating that "they didn't hear any complaints from us while we were here and would have sent their cleaners back to clean the apartment for us" and then offered us a 10% refund of our €300 stay. Despite the fact that the cleaners should have ensured the apartment was completely clean before we arrived... Unfortunately the lack of cleanliness was only one of the problems, the other problems were things completely out of a cleaners control, so it wouldn't have helped all that much, hence why we didn't complain during our stay (we were also busy trying to enjoy our little holiday, I didn't exactly want to focus on all the negatives while we were trying to have fun.) An offer of a €30 refund after such an unpleasant stay is also slightly laughable as it makes up for such a tiny amount of the cost of the stay + the travel + the parking etc, so it really makes up for nothing. So very disappointed and would recommend to anybody to avoid this place.

Overall an average stay, very good location but wouldn’t stay there again.

Location was very good

Booked apartment with 2 double beds but one of the beds was definitely smaller than a double. The smell when entering the apartment block was terrible the whole time we were there. Washer/dryer not easy to operate and were unable to get clothes completely dry. The doors would not stay open with the door stoppers provided. No egg lifter provided. couch had a decent hole/rip in it on seat cushion. Balcony doors were locked so I had to call to get someone to come with keys to unlock. Lots of noise from local teenagers drinking in park next to building and setting off fire crackers all night.

There is good and bad about this stay in Dublin. The apartment we had (one of we don't know how many City Break Apartments owns/manages so others may be different) is big and modern with a balcony off the living room / dining space / kitchen (open plan) space, and another shared by the two bedrooms. Bedrooms big, with big comfortable beds; and so are the bathrooms. Good shower although there is no seal on the bottom of the shower door so you have to position it carefully to stop water getting on the floor. The building is quiet enough and there is a lift. There is just enough crockery etc for 4 people, maybe 5. There is a safe in the bedroom. There is a Tesco Local shop a few minutes walk, and many buses on North Wall Quay. Problems with trams currently - check the tram web site as its long term. It's easy to walk to the city centre. The Ferryman across Samuel Beckett Bridge is a buzzy pub.

The property is not the flat that we were expecting to stay in. We stayed in Spencer Dock Apartments, on Park Lane. The map on the booking.com page shows the apartment as being on Mayor Street Lower which is the other side of Royal Canal about 5 minutes walking away (and probably driving too because of all the one-way streets). The listing also says parking available on site 15 euros a day. We knew we had to go elsewhere to collect the keys and advised the company (City Break Apartments) about what time we expected to be there. Nobody was in their office when we got there about 9.30 pm. Another (unconnected to us) couple also arrived to get their keys having come from the airport. We phoned and were told to wait about 20 minutes. It took longer. We were given a diagram map of several apartment buildings in the financial district but the man did not accurately know where the entrance for our apartment was and did not tell us how to use the mysterious electronic key fob to get access to the whole complex before we could get access to the actual building with a normal key (which opened doors to several other buildings in the complex). There is no on site parking. We discovered this before we left home so had done some research. The Q Park suggested by the company is hugely expensive. Our research found the underground car park at The National College of Ireland. Look it up before you go. Very busy in daytime, but we checked in there at 10.45 pm before it is locked overnight 2300 - 0700 and parked 3 nights, about 55 euros total. Park Lane (the bedroom side) has early (7.00 am) large vehicles traffic - access to the Dublin coach park. We were on the 4th floor and could hear it. Towels are tired. A cupboard door in the kitchen was very loose on its hinges - we didn't touch it in case it came off. Some stains on the bedroom carpets. Not enough coat hangers. Nowhere in the big entrance hall to hang outside coats when it rains in Dublin.

It was good deal for its money: we enjoyed having 2 separate rooms, location and friendly staff

The location is great, not far from the center of the city and you can walk by foot to all main attractions We appreciated the option to check in a little earlier at 13:30 and we were allowed to checkout at 12 without additional pay Having washing machine available is a huge advantage however you need to take some powder or capsules yourself as they are not available in the apartment

The apartment needs a little renovation as sockets, some floor wood and some furniture (chairs) are very old and are not in good shape The absence of small details like sponges to do manual dish washing and we had only 1 tablet for washing machine available but we stayed for 4 nights No washing powder or capsules, so you need to think about it yourself in advance And the apartment itself is not sound proof so you will hear everything from neighbors and people from apartment nearby, but also form rooms within this apartment The smell is also like form old building and sometimes it was unpleasant because of the smell from plumbing

Clean, tidy, comfortable, reasonably central, good security … almost too good - 3 keys to get to the property - bit like airport security 😀

Aircon was not effective - v hot at night. Opening windows was cooler but noisy. Curtains didn’t close fully so room not dark. It would have been good to have a couple of sachets of powder for the dishwasher, and some laundry detergent. Also - no cleaning cloths.

Well appointed and stocked apartment not too far from the city center.

No air conditioning so all windows and doors remained open through stay. It was very loud outside with people on the street and racing vehicles at all hours so it was difficult to relax. Also, one 🕜 f the two rooms we had was not configured per request so common areas had to be used for sleeping.

Location is good, close to the Luas, not far from the river, not far from the center.

You have to pick up your keys at the other end of town. And then treck across the city to get to the actual appartment. Check out is too early at 10.30am - if you want to stay til noon, it's 45 euro. All rather petty. No charme.

Not very good

Apartment was clean

Very unhappy that it was not made clear that you have to collect the keys from somewhere that is nowhere near the property. We caught a taxi from the train station, only then to find out we were only picking up the key from this office, the apartment is a 25 minute walk with luggage from the key pick up. It is also very difficult to find the apartment and it is not in a very nice area. If they can't have a lock box at the apartment they should have to meet you there with the key. Also there was a very funky smell in the apartment and throughout the complex.

Location, washing machine, good shower, kitchen. Tesco around the corner. Tram stop closeby. Wardrobes and drawers made it feel homely for our 4-night stay. Secure too.

Could have been a better stay !

location, close to the Mayor's square red line Luas stop and many grocery stores nearby, big living room with washing machine but no dryer though. There is a cloth rack to hang dry clothes. No outlet in the bathroom for shaving! Strangely, there is noise from the water pumping when using water or when people upstairs were using water too!! quite loud noise from that pump! even when you just turned on a tap to wash your hand just a bit, it starts pumping right away!

The instructions to get to the apartment are not so clear about how to open the gate into the compound of the apartments and it didn't help when it was raining heavy enough that you need to use an umbrella and you have big suitcases to push around. It may be ok for the locals who are familiar with staying in such an apartment in a gated complex like that but not for international guests from abroad. It should instruct people to push the gate in after tab the white panel with the sensor key because there was no buzzing noise to let us know that it was ready for us to push the gate. The location of block 8 was not clearly identified on the map- I mean the first block you saw is number 6 and we thought that the whole building is only block 6, but actually, blick 8 is at the other end towards the river it is block 8! So, it took us a while in the heavy rain to get in!!

The security of the apartment

1) the location of picking up the key is quiet far away from the apartment (2,4 km). It is not convenient for the guest with luggage. It has not been mentioned clearly in the email or info. of this booking. 2) Parking place : parking place is also quiet far from the apartment. The parking info. is not sufficient in the booking. I strongly suggest to mention the distance clearly in the apartment introductions in Booking.com. It won’t cause many complaints for same issue.

Great location, large and clean apartments, would definitely stay again.

Location was perfect, directly behind the convention center where we were attending a conference. Good sized rooms with a double bed in each and great balcony area that wrapped around the apartment.

The top floor apartments all appeared to have netting over them due to some damage/repair works taking place which made the apartments feel a little unsafe.

Nice apartment, but the office to get the keys is far, so please make sure you check the adress.

Apartment is good and big.

The address is not right in the Booking web. When we got there, we needed to go to an office that is about 20 minutes far by car from the apartment to get the keys, it took us a lot to collect the keys. The men at the office was not clear with the instructions. They didn't give us the right keys to open the terrace and we waited a lot till someone came to the apartment to give us the right keys (the second day of our stay!). Although the apartment is nice, the experience taking the keys was not good at all.
