Das Haus mit drei Apartments - wir hatten das kleinste unter dem Dach, einfach, aber gut und geschmackvoll ausgestattet, mit Terrasse und atemraubender Aussicht auf See, Porto Siviano (nächster Ort) und Berge - liegt steil an einem Hang und ist umgeben von Olivenbäumen, die sich bis hinunter ans Seeufer ziehen. Dort gibt es zwei Sonnensegel, Liegen mit Auflagen, Kajaks mit Paddel und sogar Fahrräder, die den Gästen - wir waren anfangs die einzigen - zur Verfügung stehen. Der Zugang zum See erfolgt in Ufernähe über eine Treppe und ein Tor (Schlüssel nicht vergessen, es muss aufgeschlossen werden). Dann geht es über eine Steintreppe direkt ins klare und kühle Wasser.
Das wunderbar ruhig gelegene Anwesen ist perfekt, um zu entspannen und um Ausflüge in jeden Winkel der Insel zu unternehmen - gutes Wetter vorausgesetzt. Vier Tage fühlten sich wie ein ganze Ferienwoche an. Auch weil bis auf kleine Busse und kommunale Fahrzeuge keine Autos fahren. Die Einheimischen haben knatternde Mofas und Motorräder.
Alles war gut! Aber man sollte gut zu Fuß sein. Es geht treppauf und treppab. Die gepflasterten Wege sind recht steil, und zum nächsten Ort mit Bar, Pizzeria, kleinem Supermarkt und Metzgerei sind es 15 bis 20 Minuten. Doch die vergehen bei all den schönen Ausblicken, grünen Pfaden, Uferwegen und getreppten Anstiegen recht schnell und sind ein gutes Workout.

This is the perfect lake location for relaxation and serenity. The apartment was bigger than we expected, with two extra large terraces. Great to have use of the bikes and kayaks and the lake itself is super clean with swans and ducks. It's also a lovely temperature for swimming in September. The extensive garden with olive trees and wildflowers was gorgeous!
Nothing, but a warning that there are around 50-60 stairs to the lake and garden, and the main village with small shops is up a steep lane.

The location exceeded my expectations. I loved the views, the olive trees, the narrow streets, the walk up to the village… I have to admit that I loved everything about Monte Isola.
We had a bit of a struggle with the washing machine.
