Rifugio Casello Margherita

La Struttura è molto accogliente come i suoi proprietari. Simonetta ed Eduardo sono persone alla mano e sempre disponibili. Il cibo è ottimo, vario, genuino e proposto con creatività. La mia ragazza è celiaca e non ha avuto problemi. Il rifugio è immerso nella natura ed è perfetto per godere godere di pace e tranquillità. Speriamo di tornarci presto!

Cozy accommodation with an Extremely welcoming family atmosphere, amazing food from local produce, a perfect starting point for your treks

There was so much to like about our stay at Rifugio Casello Margherita, I’m not sure where to begin. First of all: Simonetta and Eduardo are incredible hosts. Both know the Sila National Park and surrounding areas very well and are great sources of information regarding everything from hikes to the local Calabrian cuisine. Speaking of cuisine, Simonetta is an incredible cook who knows how and where to source fresh, high quality local ingredients. Breakfast was always excellent and we took one dinner there (highly recommended- next time we’ll eat dinner there more). The room and en-suite bathroom were very clean; mattress comfortable. The screens on the bedroom windows were a plus as was the fireplace in the dining room. The location is remote with views of the mountains and forests of the Sila. The hiking trail from the house was a great way to start the day (especially when joined by the owners dogs).

The WiFi (only in the common area) was weak. I know I know... we chose this place “to get away from it all”... but....
