Tenuta Le Cave

The property is beautiful, and our room was large with plenty of space to store our things. I love how the facilities are decorated—lots of unique, vintage pieces and well curated design. Roberto was an excellent server, and person to chat with. So was Jessica at the front desk and the wine maker Francesca. We loved the pool and the relaxing atmosphere there too.

It would have been nice to have a mini fridge in our room to store snacks and cold drinks. While our room had a beautiful view on one side, the other side was construction - which at times was loud and diminished privacy. I also think the wine tasting should be included if you are staying at the hotel, the wine tasting on its own is overpriced. We didn't really get a tour of the vineyards or facility, as described. Also, I think it should be waived if you buy bottles of wine, we bought a lot of bottles and still paid the 50 euro/person tasting fee.

Dine here and try their octopus and tiramisu! The food is super good. A great agriturismo on a hilltop, with great views. Worth the travel there. It's a small place, and every guest is cared for. We practically had the pool for ourselves before checking out and continuing our journey. If you have just one night, come early and leave late.

Why did we book only one night...

Everything was amazing! The staff was atentive to every one of our needs and the place is magical itself. Always love to come back here.

Room was nice, though mirror above the bed seemed odd! Food in the restaurant was good, as was breakfast. Location was excellent.

Having eaten in the restaurant on the first night, chose to eat out the following day for a change. Brought a bottle of wine back to our room, but with no corkscrew asked at reception if we could borrow one. We couldn’t borrow one, but they would open it for us, and provide glasses and an ice bucket, all very friendly. On the third evening, looked to do the same again, but this time was met by a much more frosty response, and informed we would be charged a corkage fee of 10€ - very disappointing. Yes, they produce their own wine, but given you can buy a decent bottle of wine for less than 10€, felt no desire to spend twice that (or more) on their wine! Especially when consumed in our room. Had we packed a corkscrew on the motorbike, no one would have been any the wiser. Cleaning staff seemed keen to always clean the room whilst we were at breakfast, was a little awkward when we returned and they were still cleaning - would expect them to wait until we’ve left for the day. Finally, we were disappointed to find out after booking (via confirmation email) that the spa facilities come at an extra cost - perhaps we should have cancelled at that point?
