Stressful and Unsafe Check-Out Experience

Location

Check-out process was unacceptable. We had to leave at 3 AM and were instructed to drop the room keys in a mailbox next to the exit. We were given two keys – one for the room and one for the main entrance. Logically, the entrance key was for getting in from outside, not for exiting. We had tested the door during the day, and it opened from the inside without a key, just by pressing the handle (it seemed to be an automatic lock that is locked from outside but opens freely from inside). Because of this, it was not at all obvious that at night the door would require unlocking from the inside with the key before leaving it in the mailbox.After doing exactly that, we discovered that the main door could only be unlocked from the inside using the same key we had just left in the mailbox. This left us trapped inside at 3 AM with no way to exit. The emergency number did not work despite multiple calls. What are guests supposed to do in this situation – break the mailbox or miss their flight? It is absolutely not obvious that you must unlock the door before leaving the key. This should be clearly and explicitly communicated. Very stressful and extremely disappointing experience.

The accommodation was very good

The room and bathroom were nice, clean, and the bed was comfortable. The city centre is approximately 30 min by foot, the bus and train station is 2 minutes by foot, which was very convenient for me.

Outside noises were a bit loud: e.g. if someone rang the bell at the entry door, I could hear it on the first floor. I woke up when someone came late. But noises were not frequent, only the doorbell and when someone walked on the floor. Outside street noise is not audible. So, it wasn't very disturbing for me.

Terrible. The WORST EXPERIENCE I ever had.

I have traveled a lot, but I have never had such a negative experience. Upon arrival I found dirty towels, one even stained with blood. During the following nights I could not get any sleep due to constant noise: alarms, bathroom pipes from the next room, loud television. The worst happened on my last night: when I returned to my room, I found huge cockroaches, even on the bed. I called the emergency number provided by the hotel three times, but no one ever answered. Past midnight, desperate, I had to leave the room alone and find another hotel in the city center, paying extra costs for both accommodation and parking, and losing my last night in the city. On top of this, there was a complete lack of communication: none of the staff speak English, forcing guests to use a translator even for urgent matters. A traumatic experience that ruined my trip. I would never recommend this property to anyone: poor hygiene, no assistance, no professionalism. Avoid at all costs.

A very pleasant hotel

The staff are great here - it feels family run. They were pleasant to deal with and accommodated my need to keep bags beyond check out time. The hotel is only a short walk from train and bus stations. Rooms (I stayed here twice) are comfortable and bathrooms superb. Very clean and well kept. Shops and cafes nearby make it convenient (recommend a Venezuelan restaurant just up the road).

Great experience there, maybe because there was no direct neighbor to my room, but I enjoyed the simplicity and yet comfort.

Perfect for one night stays

Position close to the station, friendly and nice staff but you should know some basic Spanish or it will be difficult to communicate.

Pillows were not very comfortable, one long (double length) pillow for a double bed, quite firm. The floor was not very clean and we found a blood stain on one of the bed covers. Guests next door came back at 11 pm and started listening to music and talking loudly until around midnight. Walls and doors are very thin so we could hear everything. Some rules about quiet hours would help.

I had a very comfortable, quiet night at the Tilos Hostal before catching an early flight.

I needed an overnight stay near the bus and train station. It was perfect, only a 5 minute walk. The price was very reasonable so I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and comfortable my room.was. Also very quiet. The receptionist that booked me in was very welcoming and helpful. It was also close to a supermarket and several restaurants.

Good accommodation for our needs

We were travelling to Seville and needed a simple place to stay for the night as a stop over as our flight arrived in late into Malaga. So we chose this accommodation as it was near the train station we would be departing from the next day. The accommodation was all we needed. It was a private room, with a double bed and en suite bathroom. The room was clean and the hostel allowed late check-in(after midnight). They communicated well and we had no issue accessing the accommodation. The location was good for our needs and the price was competitive. So would recommend if you were just passing through.

Walls are very thin. So you can hear other rooms. Not so much of an issue for us as we arrived v late and just need somewhere to sleep for a night. But in the morning time you could hear others staying in adjacent rooms.

Very convenient location for taking buses. It worked well for me for a quick city visit of Malaga between buses. They stored my bags after checkout until my second bus. Updated bathroom with good shower. Cheap breakfast places nearby.

Not great soundproofing. I heard my neighbors talking. Spongey bed - need a new mattress.
